The best training depends on what exactly you want Diego to do, i.e. potty training, commands. I recommend putting him in a puppy preschool, where you and he will learn basic commands. He needs a puppy food. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, and Iams.

I don't recommend giving puppies human food, many of them are toxic to dogs and aren't healthy to give to them. It's extremely hard to get a balanced diet correct at home, and it's vital that Oreo has a balanced diet because he's a growing puppy. That is why I strongly recommend feeding him a puppy formulated food. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. You can start with potty training now, but keep in mind it can take months and requires patience. You can also start other training, but keep the sessions short, like 10-15 minutes at a time, because he doesn't have a long attention span at this age. I hope this helps!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach! The food I mostly recommend is Science Diet. I have used their food for over 20 years in my own pets and have never had a problem with their food. My own dog was on their food for 20 years and did very well. He maintained an excellent body condition, hair coat was amazing and he loved very long. I contribute his longevity to a good diet and good care as well. If you are opposed to Science Diet, I also recommend Royal Canin, Natural Balance and Purina One. There are so many foods out there and it is easy to get caught up in the marketing game of "natural", "organic" and "grain free". As long as your dog is on a well balanced and complete diet is what matters the most. I typically recommend feeding a puppy food for the first 12 months and then switching to an adult food from 12 months to 7 years of age. Beyond 7 years I recommend a senior formula. There are number of great, high quality foods available, all of which are great choices. I like Science Diet and Royal Canin. Look for puppy food until she's 12 months old, then switch her to adult food. As for amount, go off the package recommendations, though you may find she needs less. For more specific recommendations for how much to feed her, talk to your veterinarian, as your vet can advise you based on her current body condition (underweight, ideal weight, overweight) and size. Buddy is so cute! I'm not sure if the Pro Pac kibbles is a puppy formulated food, and if it's not, he needs to be on one. Puppies need higher amounts of protein, calcium, and calories than an adult dog and a puppy formulated food will provide one. Brands of puppy food I personally recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. It's fine to add in canned dog food, just make sure it's puppy formulated. The brands I mentioned above have puppy canned food as well as the dry kibble. I hope this helps :-)

Any food that has an AAFCO certification label on the bag has been tested to be well balanced. And any food that is labeled for puppies is designed to support growth. So I would go with a small breed, puppy dog food with an AAFCO label. I really like the following brands: Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Evo, and Eukanuba. Best wishes taking care of your new puppy. And don't forget that vaccinations usually start around 8 weeks of age, so schedule an appt with your veterinarian soon if you haven't done so already. Hello and thank you for your post! There is not one best food out there, but there are foods that are much better than others to feed your dog. All veterinarians have different foods they recommend due to the large selection of foods and what is available in different areas of the world. The foods that I currently recommend, and this is based on personal use with my own dog who lived to be 20 years old, are Science Diet, Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Natural Balance and Purina. These are my go to recommendations for pet owners currently. I would avoid foods that are all life stage and more specifically go with a puppy food, then at 12 months of age switch to an adult food. In general, grain free food is not recommended due to a potential link with heart disease. I recommend to feed a brand like Royal Canin Chihuahua Puppy (it's ok that he is a mixed breed) or their regular small breed puppy formula. Purina ProPlan also carries small breed puppy diets. Hi Sofia! Congrats on your new puppy! Given that Luna is six months old, she will need to be given a puppy formulated food. Puppies require higher amounts of protein, calories, and calcium than adult dogs, and a puppy formulated food will provide that for her. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. Once she is 12 months old, she can be transitioned to an adult dog food. As for her breed, unfortunately without seeing a picture of her, I can't say what breed I think she might be. I do recommend a check up with the vet to discuss vaccines, deworming treatments, flea treatments, and spaying her. While there, the vet can help you identify her breed.
