My dog is throwing up blood, not eating, and very lethargic. Help!

Since yesterday my dog has been throwing up, he won’t eat, he barely has been drinking, he’s used the bathroom once today that I know of, he just wants to lay down, when he does throw up it’s a milky color and it has specs of red and greenish yellow

I'm quite concerned the specs of red in Kane's vomit is blood. Vomiting blood is a medical emergency and he sounds quite sick. You cannot treat this at home, you need to take him into a vet immediately.

Kobe sounds extremely ill if he's been urinating blood for a week, was throwing up, and has stopped eating. He also sounds very lethargic if he's sleeping a lot. He has to see a vet immediately, he definitely needs veterinary care right away. There is nothing you can do for him at home. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Poor Ellie - it sounds like she is really not feeling well! It is very concerning that she vomited blood, as this may be a sign of ingestion of a toxin, a foreign body obstructing the intestines, or a torsion of the intestines. She should be seen by a veterinarian immediately - she may need to be stabilized and have blood work and x-rays taken to figure out what is going on. It's quite serious that Sara hasn't eaten since last Saturday, and it's also serious that she may be pooping and/or vomiting blood. She has to see a vet immediately. She could have a foreign body, may have gotten into something toxic, or could be suffering from hemorrhagic gastroenteritis among other causes. Her symptoms are a medical emergency, please take Sara into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her now.

Oh dear! I'm sorry to hear that your pup is sick. There are many different things that could cause vomiting like this, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine him and run some tests. Some possible causes would include a GI problem like pancreatitis or an intestinal obstruction, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, parvo (if he's young and not fully vaccinated), or ingestion of something toxic. If he's been vomiting for two days and can't keep anything down, this sounds like a serious problem - so I would definitely recommend taking him to the vet today to be seen. He/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

This is very concerning that she has a severe gastric ulcer. This can happen with certain medications, infections, or ingestion of certain poisons. I recommend that you take Piper to the vet for an evaluation and treatment as soon as possible, because Piper can lose a significant amount of blood through her gastrointestinal tract if not treated right away. Coughing up blood is a medical emergency and must be assessed by a vet immediately. Traumatic wounds to the throat, lungworm and other respiratory conditions can all cause similar signs and can be life threatening if not caught in time. It is likely sedation and xrays will be required if nothing is identified on an oral exam

Loss of appetite and vomiting can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Layka evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. You can offer a bland diet which may help. This diet could be composed of rice, boiled chicken, ham, turkey, lean hamburgers or low fat cottage cheese. Poor Lupo! I'm sorry to hear that he's sick. Unfortunately, the symptoms you describe are very concerning - repeated episodes of vomiting like this, especially with blood, are often a sign of a serious problem such as pancreatitis, an intestinal obstruction, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or ingestion of something toxic. A curved back and acting very lethargic are signs of abdominal pain. I'm afraid this is not something that can be treated at home - he really needs to see a vet right away, as this may be a life-threatening problem. The vet can do blood work and x-rays to help determine what is causing the vomiting and get him started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.
