My puppy drank a full 9oz bottle of dairy milk. Will he be okay?

I’m very worried. I just woke up from a nap and my grandpa has given my puppy a full 9oz bottle of dairy milk to him. He won’t listen and does it when I’m asleep and says that dairy milk will not hurt a dog, that all vets are liars. I don’t know what to tell him or do. Will he be okay? Should I expect anything after the full bottle of milk?

It's not recommended to give dogs a lot of dairy products because it causes stomach upset in the form of vomiting and diarrhea. I can assure you that your grandfather is wrong, we are not liars. You may see vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or a loss of appetite from this. If you do see it, have Ollie seen by a vet.

No, it's not harmful but she may have diarrhea because of it. If she does get diarrhea it is usually self-limiting (meaning it will resolve on it's own with no treatment). Hope this helps. Best wishes!

Hello, my 3 year old gave my dog milk and now she is having diarrhea. She's acting perfectly fine and eating and drinking fine but is there something I can do?
I am very sorry to hear that Sadie was given some milk by your 3 year old. I also have a 3 year old and a dog, it's a very interesting combination to be sure. The milk will most likely not cause anything more then some diarrhoea. Since you have only noticed a few episodes I would continue to monitor Sadie at home. Provide a bland diet of boiled boneless chicken breast and white rice and plenty of fresh water. Cooked skinless sweet potato can also be helpful for diarrhoea. If the episodes continue, if Sadie becomes depressed, passes large amounts of blood, vomits, or seems very uncomfortable take Sadie to see his vet. Because milk can have a high fat content, one potential complication of Sadie ingesting it, would be pancreatitis. If you notice the above signs it's possible Sadie has pancreatitis. My puppy drank approximately 6 oz of coffee, will he be ok? He drank half a cup of my latte and I think the cup is a 12 oz. cup. He is a little over 30 lbs and is 7 months old.
Rowan will probably be just fine. The worst thing that may happen is some vomiting and/or diarrhea (like an upset stomach). If he does have these signs they are usually self-limiting meaning they will go away within 24 hours without treatment. If the signs last longer than that then you should take him to the vet for some additional treatment. I hope this helps! Best wishes!

My dog drank some almond milk that had cocoa pebbles in it. He is about 70 pounds. Should I be worried?
Unless he ate a large quantity of Cocoa Puffs, the worst you may see is some stomach upset (vomiting or diarrhea). Monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. Minor stomach upset can usually be managed with a 24 fast followed by a bland diet fed in small,frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. If not, see your veterinarian for an exam.

Hi there! Oh dear, the horrors of finding information on as we call it "Dr. Google"! I'm glad you reached out to Boop by Petco on this one :) Cow's milk is not good for dogs and can actually cause gas, constipation, and an upset stomach. I would withhold food (he can have water) for the next 6-8 hours and then try feeding Dexter a bland diet of boiled chicken, rice, and plain canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) for a couple days. If you find he is still vomiting and having diarrhea, he may need to see his veterinarian. He could have a bacterial or viral infection or even parasites that could cause similar symptoms. Hello, Maggy again for into something so I was eating chocolate cereal and I left the bowl on the table with the milk bring chocolaty and she drank it does it matter, or is she fine?
Maggy may see some stomach upset from drinking the milk, but otherwise she should be fine. The chocolate cereal will not have a lot of chocolate in it. Dairy does cause GI upset in dogs, so she may have some vomiting or diarrhea from it. If you see that, I can give you a home remedy that may help. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. Hopefully, she should be fine :-)

My golden retriever puppy who is about 4 months old ate a block of extra sharp cheddar cheese. I need to know if this is OK ASAP I don't want anything to happen to my little cooper.
Oh Cooper, mischievous Golden Retriever puppy! Cheese is not toxic but in large quantities or in patients sensitive to dairy products it can cause gastrointestinal upset. I would monitor Cooper for the development of vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation over the next 24-48 hours. If these develop, I would have him examined by his veterinarian to assess if an anti-nausea medication, probiotic, or laxative is needed.

No, cows milk is generally not recommended as dogs do not have the necessary means to digest the fats and sugars and it commonly causes diarrhea. A balanced, large breed puppy food should not need any additional supplementation and is designed to be fed with water

My toy poodle was never weaned from her mom. I got her at 3 months and have given her milk ever since. She likes milk and it seems to calm her stomach. Can this be so based on the negative comments about milk and dogs?
Most dogs do not tolerate cows milk. As they get older they do not have the proper enzymes to digest the lactose in the milk. I do know of some people who give their dogs milk and never have any problems. Baby girl does need a regimen of regular dog food though to ensure she is getting all the proper nutrients. If Babygirl commonly has an upset stomach the milk could actually be the problem. If she commonly has problems with her stomach, I would have your vet take a look at her to make sure there isn’t something else going on like intestinal parasites or a bacterial infection. Your vet will be able to talk to you in detail about her diet and the amount of milk she is receiving and whether taking off the milk will actually be more beneficial for her and her tummy. Shall I give my rottweiler puppy milk or buttermilk apart from royal canin giant dog starter pack and cerelac?
Puppy milk is fine to give Prince, but given that he is one month of age, he really doesn't need it. As his age, water is the only liquid he needs. Please do not give him buttermilk. Dairy products cause GI upset in dogs, and he does not need it. I hope this helps!
