My puppy has red, inflamed ears. What to do if no vet is open?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 13 days old | 25 lbs

My puppy Sparky has had a bad ear infection for the past 4 days. It's not mites but we didn't know the cause. I just found a tick bite on his neck and thought that the ears could be an allergic reaction. His ears are really badly inflamed, they are very bumpy and red. What could I do for him. No vet is open now. And the Coronavirus is around.

It could be due to yeast or bacteria. Vets are seeing pets for emergencies, and this would count due to the risk of leaving it untreated. If left untreated, it can cause hearing loss. Give Sparky's vet a call to have him seen.
