Why is my dog having bloody diarrhea, pain, and straining to poop?

Pet's info: Dog | Weimaraner | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 105 lbs

My dog can poop solid right now and it’s just liquid and she is in pain. Blood is starting to come out and I think that there might be something stuck in her colon but she can get it out.

Wynter sounds pretty bad off at the moment, and it's serious there is blood coming out. If there is something stuck in her colon causing this, she needs to see a vet. I would take her into one immediately.

I would take Xina into a vet immediately. If she is pooping blooding, she could be suffering from hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a foreign body, may have eaten something toxic, suffered trauma to the GI tract, has GI ulcers, or parvovirus if she isn't fully vaccinated. All of these causes are extremely serious and require veterinary treatment now. Please take Xina into a vet right away to diagnose what is causing her bloody diarrhea so she can be treated.

Dog is constipated he has just a little Diarrhea coming and a little blood due to straining What can i do to help him
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Buddy. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian today if possible. Blood in the stool is worrisome. It can be due to inflammation in the colon and straining to defecate. However, it can also indicate a more serious condition such as pancreatitis or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. The veterinarian will examine him and may perform fecal tests and bloodwork. Constipation is usually seen with small hard feces being passed. Diarrhea is a more common of straining to defecate. In the meantime, encourage him to drink water as this can help to prevent dehydration. The veterinarian will prescribe medication to help him. I hope this information helps!

It sounds like Dove has had some problems for a while. That has to be frustrating. With diarrhea, it is common for dogs to strain and have nothing come out. A few causes of diarrhea can include food intolerance, parasites, infections, and stress. If your veterinarian has not checked a stool sample for parasites, you will want to bring in a sample to be evaluated. You can try changing to a different food, something with a new protein source, like rabbit, duck, or venison. Adding fiber to the diet can help some dogs. This can be done with a spoonful of canned pumpkin. Lastly, a probiotic or even yogurt can be given to add some good bacteria into her system. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Sounds like Suzain may have had a rectal prolapse. Rectal tissue can protrude when there is excessive straining to defecate and can look like intestine. The bloody stool could be from intestinal parasites, ingestion of a toxin or non-food item or potentially parvovirus. I would recommend seeing a veterinarian to treat the diarrhea and determine if there is a rectal prolapse.

My dog has diarrhea and vomited once while I was at work. Now she seems to be in some, but not sever pain when trying to pass a stool. Eating and drinking fine, no pain when handling
What you are describing can have many causes, but is suspicious of a colitis ( inflammation of the colon). This tends to present as small amounts of diarrhea that sometimes has blood in it and tends to cause a great deal of straining. If this only happens while you are at work, then I would be suspicious of a stress colitis. Infection, parasites, food intolerance, and certain cancers are among the possible causes. For this reason it’s best to have Dolly evaluated by a veterinarian in the next day, or two. my dog makes howling noises like he's in pain when he poops and you can clearly see blood in his anus but there is no blood in his stool. besides crying out in pain when he poops, his behaviour hasnt changed. should i be concerned or wait it out?
Your dog may have an injury in his anus or rectum, or a polyp or he may have an impacted anal gland. I strongly recommend you take him to your veterinarian as an impacted or infected anal gland is very painful and needs to be evacuated, or lanced and flushed. Please take Loki to a veterinarian ASAP.

My dog seems to be having a hard time pooping. She is having a bloody and diarrhea mixture coming out. But it's not a lot it will just drip out of her butt when she tries to poop. Should I be worried? Or will it pass?
Bloody diarrhea can be a sign of significant infection or a disease called HGE. Dogs can become very sick very quickly with HGE. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Antibiotics and/or probiotics may be recommended. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. My dog has been having great pain when he has bowel movement with blood coming out. I took him off all food for 24hrs to see if he would do better. He did for 24hrs. But this morning at 2am. He was curled up in pain and you can here his stomach. Then
I would call your vet and ask to be seen sooner, worked in between appointments, or find another vet that can see him, preferably today. Pain should not be left for days without being investigated. He may have eaten something that has it=rritated or injured his gi tract towards the end since the blood is so red. If it were bleeding higher, such as the stomach, the blood would be digested and be tarry and black. Whichever vet you see should do an exam, labwork and probably x-rays as well to determine what is wrong and based on these results they will be better able to tell you the best treatment plan.

My dog has been unusually quiet and withdrawn today and we heard her screech in pain and then she went for a poo and there was blood in it. What could it be?
Poor Bella! She could have an issue with her back causing her pain when she moves or she could have some constipation. Since she seems withdrawn and painful, she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can do a physical exam and run some diagnostic tests, if needed, to determine the best way to treat. She may need an anti-inflammatory and pain medications to help.

I am very sorry to hear about Luna! Diarrhea with blood is a concerning symptom and veterinary care is recommended in these cases. We can have a variety of causes depending on the dog's age and history including parvovirus, gastrointestinal parasites (worms/coccidia/giardia), hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, bacterial infections, dietary sensitivities and more. I would recommend making an appointment for Luna to be examined ASAP to help determine what is causing her symptoms and how best to treat her!
