My dog is sick, throwing up, not eating, and weak. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 12 years old | 5 lbs

my dog has been very sick this past wee. It started first with him only having a cough and heavily breathing. The next day he was no longer with the cough or heavy breathing, but two days later he stopped eating and threw up what he ate and has only been drinking water. He has now started to wobble when he walks and has spent the past few days in bed.

Cookie sounds very sick, and it's serious that he's not eating, is weak (likely the cause of this wobbling), and lethargic. You cannot treat this at home, you need to take him into a vet immediately.

Rambo sounds very sick, and he needs to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.
