My French Bulldog is bleeding when she pees. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | spayed | 4 years and 5 months old | 25 lbs

Hello. My French Bulldog is bleeding from her where she urinates from. She is 4.5 years old, she had a hysterectomy at 6 months old and she’s never had any issues. What do you think is the issue? Thank you.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Coco Chanel. Poor girl. This bleeding could be due to a UTI or bladder stones. I would have her seen by a vet today for this issue. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and can treat her. I hope this helps!

Hello my bitch has blood in her urine, its bright red
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Blood in the urine can be indicative of a urinary tract infection, stones within the bladder or urethra, or even cancer of the bladder. I recommend having Bluebell seen by your veterinarian as soon as they have an appointment available. Your veterinarian can perform a urinalysis to see if an infection is present, and may recommend x-rays to check for evidence of stones in the bladder. I hope this is helpful!

My 2 year old female pit is having bloody urine and it also is foul smelling. She can't control it and has been uses it in the house. She also has white mucus like spots in the urine too.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is likely due to a urinary tract infection. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Your veterinarian would be able to start an antibiotic right away and also culture her urine to make sure that the right antibiotic is used. Good luck and have a good night!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. I would recommend having Lola examined by a veterinarian and have her urine tested. I would try and collect a urine sample at home so that you can bring this sample in with you. The blood in the urine may be due to a urinary tract infection. If there is no infection, there may be crystals or stones in the bladder causing irritation. It is also possible that the bloody urine is due to a bladder tumor or bleeding disorder. Bell had her anal glands expressed yesterday noon. She passed quite a bit of blood in the evening on three occasions. Her urine seemed clear this morning. Should I be concerned?

If she passed blood in her urine then that would be concerning for things that can affect the urinary tract such as a urinary tract infection, urine stones or even a tumor. My Bulldog is bleeding through the unrine.What cause that?
Hello, and thank you for your question. Blood in the urine can be a sign of a urinary tract infection, urinary crystals, bladder stones, prostate infection, or kidney disease, among other things. I would suggest having Bronx checked out by a vet if the bloody urine continues over the next 24 hours. The vet will recommend a urine sample to check for infection, crystals, protein loss, etc. They may also check his prostate via a rectal exam. In the meantime, I would encourage Bronx to drink more water and take him out to pee a bit more often to flush out any potential bacteria or crystals in his urinary tract. Harleigh could have worms even though you don't see any in her feces, and that would cause blood in her feces. I would take her into the vet with a sample of her feces. The vet can examine her feces under a microscope for signs of eggs from intestinal parasites, and can prescribe her a deworming treatment.

I would recommend taking Gidget (and a sample of her urine if you can get it) in to be evaluated by your veterinarian. Blood in the urine is often indicative of a urinary tract infection and/or bladder stones. If left untreated the infection can become worse and difficult to clear up. I hope this helps. I have American Bully and she can’t hold her urine too much as well as her bleeding in her urine and straining
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Chi Chi! The most common reasons for straining to urine, urinary accidents and bloody urine are: urinary tract infections (UTI), crystals in the urine, bladder stones and if she is an older dog a bladder or urethral tumor. I recommend collecting a urine sample and bringing her to the Vet before the weekend as she is very uncomfortable. The urine sample can determine if she has an infection or crystals and an X-ray is needed to check for bladder stones. I wish Chi Chi a speedy recovery!
