My dog won't eat or drink and has red spots. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | unspayed | 12 lbs

My dog does not want to eat and drink anything which she really likes before. And also, she has many red traces as the pictures show. I want to ask what kind of sick she has right now?

It's not good that Boi doesn't want to eat and drink, and these red spots could be from insect bites like fleas, a skin infection, ringworm, or allergies. You need to have her seen by a vet for these issues.

Hi and thank you for using Boop by Petco. I recommend that you take your dog to see a veterinarian. It sounds like he needs immediate care if he is not eating, he is lethargic and may have a fever. This sounds like a serious condition that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. Your veterinarian will perform a full physical exam and determine what additional testing may need to be done (xrays, bloodwork) to give you a better idea of what treatments are needed. Good luck.

My dog don't want to eat much and she don't want to drink
Sorry that she is having this problem. It is concerning that she won't eat or drink and she could have an infection, parasite, endocrine disease, pancreatitis, liver/kidney disease, etc. You could offer her some boiled chicken and white rice and see if she will eat. If not, have your vet examine her to determne the cause and treat. She may need an antibiotic and fluids. Hope she feels better soon!

Causes of not eating and vomiting are: worms, viral (especially parvovirus if not vaccinated) or bacterial infections, pancreatitis, ate something gross, or ate something that is causing a blockage in his stomach or intestines. The signs you are describing can be related to your dog's anal glands - these are structures that create lubrication for the feces and can become impacted or infected. You may be seeing redness around the anus because your dog has been scooting or licking/chewing the area. Another cause can be a bacterial or fungal infection. I recommend having your dog seen by a vet as soon as possible, they can perform a rectal exam to determine if there are any anal gland issues. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. I am very concerned about any dog that will not eat or drink and recommend Hurley see the vet as soon as possible. This could be anything from a simple arthritis flare up to organ failure to cancer. For the first, some pain medication is often all that is needed while the others may require other treatments. Bo's lesion looks most suspicious for a bacterial skin infection, but could also be due to ringworm, mange, or bruising. Since it does not seem to be bothering him, you can monitor the lesion for the time being to see if it changes colors, grows, becomes itchy, or spreads elsewhere. You can also try bathing him with an antimicrobial shampoo (here is one example: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=27982 ). However, if the lesion worsens or seems to be causing discomfort, it is worth taking a trip to the vet for evaluation. I hope that all goes well!

Hi my dog is very sick he has not been eating for 2 days, he only drinks a little water and today i did a blood test
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. On the CBC (on the right side), I can see that Rocky has a mild to moderate anemia and mildly elevated white blood cells. These are relatively non-specific factors that can be associated with many diseases. The data on the left side I unfortunately cannot read as I do not understand the language. I recommend that you have Rocky evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. If he is not drinking water well, he should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible to prevent dehydration. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is possibly due to allergies. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. This should not be causing him to not eat well as you describe so I am suspicious that there is something else going on like a gastrointestinal condition which may be affecting his appetite. Your veterinarian would be able to check on this. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the mark

My daschund dran its own blood yesterdaynight and now it is not eating or drinking anything, what am i supposed to do now?
I'm not sure why Bunty was drinking his own blood, but it could be that the blood is upsetting his stomach. If he suffered from blood loss due to an injury, that could also cause him to not eat or drink. I would have him seen by a vet immediately, and the vet can diagnose what is causing him to not eat and drink and can treat him for it.
