Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Alexander. Oh no, poor boy. Flush his eyes with cool water multiple times. Keep an eye on him. If his eye is red, swollen, or there is discharge from it, take him into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Soap is very irritating to dog's eyes and can cause superficial damage to the cornea. This is painful, and causes dogs to squint their eye and produce more tears. I recommend trying to flush the eye with eye wash - you can purchase from a pharmacy - 2-3 times per day. If Dobby is still squinting his eye in 16-24 hours, he should be seen by a veterinarian for an eye exam. Depending on the severity of injury, a cone collar may be recommended as well as other topical eye medications. If Dobby's eye seems to improve in the next day, he may be OK. I hope this is helpful! Please consider purchasing a puppy-safe soap that won't be so irritating to Dobby in the future!

hello I have a quick question I have a french bull dog he's 7 month yesterday last night I notice that he's eye was watery and it looks swolling and he rubs it with his paw ?
It is a good idea to have King Blue checked out by a vet. It could be an allergic reaction or something stuck under the eyelids. Try to keep him from scratching his eye with his paws since he may damage the cornea. The vet will do a thorough exam and may prescribe eye ointments or anti-inflammatories for the swelling.

My French bull dog puppie has red eyes in the corners and they weep, should I take him to the vets? He isn’t messing with them but they look bad.
That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to an allergy or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Hello vet! My french bulldog seems to have something weird in his right eye. As you can see on the picture it lookes like his eye is peeling off or so, do you have any ideaal what it could be? His other eye lookes perfectly normal. Kind regards.
It looks like he has experienced some type of trauma to that eye and hsca wound. He should see your veterinarian immediately for an eye exam and at minimum will require prescription topical eye medications to allow this to heal without getting infected and causing more serious problems. I cannot say that surgery is needed from the photo, but it may be a possibility.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Based on what you are describing, it definitely sounds like Princess sustained some trauma to her eye from the soap getting into it. If she is squinting her eye, she is definitely painful and should be seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Soap can cause superficial corneal ulcers to occur, which can rapidly worsen without treatment, especially if she is continuing to scratch at her eye and traumatize it further. Corneal ulcers, if left untreated, can become deeper and deeper to the point of causing the eye itself to rupture - if this occurs, the eye must be removed. If you have an Elizabethan collar (E-collar) at home, I recommend putting that her Princess right away to keep her from scratching at it. Please have Princess seen by your vet or an emergency veterinarian as soon as possible to start treating her eye. Do NOT give any pain medications that are intended for humans to Princess, as these can be fatally toxic to do

I recommend flushing the eye with sterile saline eye wash or cooled boiled water, occasionally objects or stray hairs can become trapped on the surface of the eye causing such patterns. If it does rinse off then yes, you should see a vet straight away as french bulldogs are prone to painful corneal ulcers which can result in significant pain, discomfort and scarring if left untreated

Wasabi is suffering from an eye infection . This needs to be seen by a veterinarian who will need to examine the eye for ulceration and injury. He will doe an eye exam with an ophtalmoscope and will also put some diagnostic fluid in the eye which will show up any damage to the cornea, Treatment will depend on the findings and will include an eye ointment or eye drops and possibly pain medications. Please do not put any ointment or medication into the eye unless it was prescribed by a vet for this condition.

Why does my frenchie have red eyes?
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Otis. From the picture, it looks like his third eyelid is sticking. This is a normal structure of the dog's eye, but it should not be out when the eye is open. When this happens, it's a sign of an eye infection, an injury to the eye, or a condition called Horner's syndrome among other causes. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I'd take him into the vet in the morning. I hope this helps!

My dog got soap in his eye during a bath and now it’s really red. He is still behaving normally Will it resolve itself on its own?
Aww poor guy! It will likely resolve on its own over the next 24 hours. Rinse his eye thoroughly with tap water to make sure residual soap is gone. If it’s not resolved in 24 hours or if it starts to seem like it’s bothering him, take him to your vet. It’s possible there is enough irritation to cause an ulcer on his cornea. (Though not likely.)
