My dog just had puppies, has black discharge & shaking. Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | American Bully | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 26 days old | 15 lbs

Ivy had 7 puppies Wednesday. About two weeks ago I noticed her spine right above her hips sticking up. It didn’t seem to hurt her when I touched it I thought it was just weight of puppies pullin her down. Since having them her spine is still protruding and since Wednesday her back legs are shaking really bad. Also noticed a few min ago that she had dark almost black slime coming out of her. Like a good bit. Any ideas or suggestions? Can’t go to vet till later this week.

It could be Ivy has a postpartum infection, and this is very serious. This could kill her. She needs to see a vet immediately, you cannot wait until next week. Please take her and her puppies into a vet now.

It could be that Anime has a postpartum infection such as mastitis. She could also have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or a foreign body. I would take her into a vet asap to get checked out.

Since she is a new mom and she seems to be uncomfortable, I highly recommend getting her in to see your vet right away. She may still have a pup inside that may be bigger and got stuck. If this is the case, without treatment this could threaten her life.

My sistes dog just had a litter of six puppies. This morning she has been vomiting a lot and feels very warm,she looks like she still has a puppy inside but it's not moving. What can we do to help her?
This is a medical emergency - both her and her pups are at risk from infection if she has a dead pup inside her. She needs urgent assessment for any remaining pups/remnants and either induction or an emergency section/hysterectomy depending on findings as well as supportive treatment for her fever

Hello, my bitch(pug) 5 years old got mated on 10 - 12 day. And it's today 27 days of heat and now there is black discharge from her vulva. She is active and acting normal. No signs of illness. What is the cause ? Plz help.
Black discharge is never normal and i recommend an urgent vet check to rule out ant infection. It is likely she will miscarry the litter and may need intensive antibiotics and hormonal treatment and may even require surgery

If they are all experiencing this, I would be concerned it could be something contagious such as distemper or they may have gotten into something toxic. I think this is a medical emergency, and I feel they should all go to a vet immediately. My dog bleed on her genital and also some light shaking
I see that Ronda isn't spayed, and it could be she is suffering from a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment, and it can cause shaking. I think it's best she is seen by vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. This is not normal, and Asuna has to see a vet immediately. This discharge can be a sign of a complication in her pregnancy, and she needs veterinary attention right away. My main recommendation is to check her temperature to make sure she does not have a fever (over 102.5). While it is normal for the temperature to rise for the first 24 hours after whelping, by now it should return to normal. If she does have a fever or the vaginal discharge has a foul smell, is increasing in volume, or she seems to be feeling any worse, then take her to the veterinarian. If you have a house call veterinarian in your area, that would be even better. Infection of the uterus, or metritis, is possible and should be taken seriously. At two days post-whelping, a reddish brown discharge is normal. If she has no fever and seems to be feeling better, then just make sure she has plenty to eat and lots of fresh water. Yes, I would be concerned. Luna sounds sick if she's had diarrhea for most of these past four weeks, and is now shivering. It's natural she will have less to do with the puppies as they grow, but she still should be paying attention to them, and being sick may cause her to not want anything to do with them. I'd take her into a vet immediately.

Poor Kaye! Unfortunately no, I do not have any solutions for at home care. She sounds extremely ill, and given that she had a litter of puppies a month ago, she could be suffering from a postpartum infection or mastitis causing her symptoms. She has to have her symptoms diagnosed by a vet in order to be treated properly, and I would be very concerned that if she is left untreated, she could die. The best thing that can be done for her is find the nearest vet and get her into it as soon as possible.
