My senior dog's back legs collapsed. Is it DM or just fell asleep?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dalmatian | Female | spayed | 13 years and 8 months old

My dog is 13 years old. She is a Dalmatian. All of the sudden, her back legs collapsed. They stopped working. I am so afraid that it is degenerative myelopathy. I have decided to tke her to the vet tomorrow (if it doesn't get better). Is it possible that her legs just fell asleep? Thank you in advance!

I'm concerned that it could be a problem with Nasa's back given that her legs collapsed so suddenly. If her legs just fell asleep, she would have use of them back relatively quickly. I would not wait until tomorrow to get her seen by a vet, I'd have her seen by a vet now.
