Why is my cat drooling, acting paralyzed, ignoring food, and peeing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed

As I was feeding my cats I noticed one was missing. I turn around to look for her and I see her standing, excessively drooling and it seemed like she was paralyzed for a moment. I put food right in front of her but she totally ignored it. Then, she started walking, moved for another meter, stood still and started peeing. This was all happening on concrete, not grass, and there were little puddles of her salvia and pee left. What should I do. This and outdoors countryside cat, about 6 years old.

It sounds like the cat may be having some seizure activity (partial or absence seizures). There isn't anything you can do for that other than leave her be. If it is a seizure she should return to normal in a few minutes. If it is not a seizure she could have ingested a toxin of some sort that is causing her symptoms. Those are the two things I would think of right away.
