Urgent: 4-week Pomeranian puppy care, feeding, and dog intro tips?

I have Pomeranian puppy 4 weeks old, what should I do? Should I kennel her or keep her in a play pen? Is it ok to leave wet food out for her constantly as long as it’s changed every couple hours? Any tips will help I don’t have a vet apt for another two weeks!! I do have another Pomeranian should I leave them alone together? She is kind of hyper and I don’t want the puppy to get hurt

I'd keep her in a kennel when you aren't home, and in a playpen when you are home. You can leave wet food out for her if you change it every few hours. Do not leave her alone with the other dog. Make sure she always has water too.

At four weeks you can start introducing solid foods, but Blue should still either be supplemented with mild replacement formula or be nursing from his mother. I usually recommend mixing food with some milk replacer in a shallow pan and letting it sit until it is relatively soft, and then letting the puppy explore. Be advised - it will probably be a messy experience at first!

I have puppy's I got from a friend I just found out they are 4 weeks old it is safe for them to be away from mother they can eat soft dog food and canned dog food.
Ideally, they should stay with the mother and litter until at least 8 weeks of age. This can prevent behavioral issues as they get older. They can start weaning to solid foods beginning at about 4 weeks of age. If they can stay with the mother and litter while weaning, this would be best for them in the long run.

Expose her as much as possible to the different sights and sounds of the home and yard. This will help acclimate her to different environments. You can "puppy proof" and area, but try not to make it too sterile for her. When feeding her, take the bottle away early every now and then and hold her in an uncomfortable position for brief periods of time. This will impart various coping skills and teach her how to deal with frustrations. Ideally, she should be enrolled in puppy socialization classes very soon. The best way for her to learn how to be a dog is to play and tumble around with other dogs. A vaccinated and healthy adult female dog can also be used to teach manners

Yes you can start mixing dry food with canned food. You may have to soften it with some warm water at first but they should be able to transition to plain dry food pretty soon. I would put the puppies on puppy food to help them grow. I recommend puppy food until they are 1 year old. The mom should be on adult food now that she isn’t nursing them anymore. I hope this helps.

She is small and 5weeks is early to be separated from mother and littermates and such pups can be more prone to anxiety due to limited socialisation. I would recommend feeding 5-6times per day with a complete puppy food (feeding guidelines vary per brand, wet or dry) and once on puppy food would not need additional formula or supplements. Be sure to keep up to date with deworming medication and contact your vets office to arrange vaccinations. Keep her isolated from other, unvaccinated dogs until she is up to date

She’s adorable! Yes you can give puppy wet food and soak puppy dry food so it’s soft and feed that. She doesn’t need milk any longer. I recommend feeding small meals frequently, about 6-8 times a day and let her eat as much as she wants. Be sure to stimulate her to pee and poop by using a warm wet cloth and wipe around under her tail. As she grows you can reduce the feeding gradually when she’s not interested in eating each time. Congratulations on your new puppy! At first, I would recommend feeding Lola what she has already been eating at the breeder. Changes in diet have to be done gradually to avoid GI upset, so typically continuing to feed the food they were already on helps to make the transition to the new home easier. In terms of treats, she will be very small, so training treats (small bite sized pieces) would be a great option. Toys are variable depending on which type she enjoys. I would get a couple options and see which type she prefers; just remember not to leave her unsupervised with any toys that have a squeaker, as she may be able to chew it open and eat the squeaker! At first, she won't need to have her teeth brushed, as her adult teeth won't have come in yet (she will still have baby teeth). Getting her used to having your fingers in her mouth and manipulating under her gums will help prepare her for tooth brushing when she is a little older. Congratulations and enjoy!

He will need to eat 3-4 times a day. If he is weaned, then you can find puppy food. If not, then you will need to get puppy milk replacer and continue to bottle feed until he transitions to food completely. Make sure he stays warm and has something ti snuggle with. Get him a small kennel to have as his place where he can stay when no one is watching them. His vaccines will need to be started at 6 weeks along with being dewormed. Make an appointment for this to be done so he can be examined by your vet.

Hello. Cali should be eating a puppy food on her own, either a moistened dry or canned. At thus age, she should be screened by your veterinarian for intestinal parasites & receive appropriate treatment/medications. Vaccinations start at 8 weeks of age. And in terms of the food -- he should be willing to eat wet food, if not dry food, at this age. So if he's not, I would highly recommend a check up with your vet to make sure everything looks ok. He may just need more time to adjust, but with such a young guy, he can get low blood sugar and dehydration very quickly, so it's important to act sooner rather than later.
