My dog's ankle is swollen. What pain relief can I give her until vet?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 40 lbs

My 8 year old shepherd has spine problems and drags her hind legs. I noticed that one of her ankles is swollen really bad and she seems to be in a good bit of discomfort. She takes tramadol for her back pain what else can I give her for pain just to get her through the weekend? We luve far from a emergency vet

Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give Dusty. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Rest her as much as possible this weekend. No running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to potty on a leash, and bring her right back in when she's done. Have her seen by a vet on Monday.
