My puppy is still itching with ear discharge after treatment. Why?

My fifteen week old puppy was treated last week with bravecto and treated for tape worm which he definately had ! he was treated four days ago . He is itching himself constantly on his shoulders and back . And his ears have a brown waxy discharge within them . Why is he still itching four days after treatment ?

If there are fleas in the environment, they will still be present for another 3-6 weeks. Ask you veterinarian if they think he has any type of secondary infection. I also recommend to have the wax tested to see if there is an ear infection. Most dogs will generally have clean ear canals naturally. When you see waxy discharge, it could be an infection.
