Why is my dog licking his belly, has yellow stool, and won't eat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | neutered | 2 years and 11 months old | 45 lbs

My almost 3 year of Husky has been licking/chewing just his belly area constantly throughout the day for over a week. The area is very red and his skin has turned reddish brown. Also, he just started having very soft mustard colored stools yesterday. He seems to get yellow stools 2 -3 times per month. Can I do anything at home to help with the itching and should I be concerned about the stool color? He does seem lethargic today & he didn’t want his breakfast. Thank you for your time,

Unfortunately in this case, it cannot be treated at home. The rash sounds pretty bad, and I would be concerned about the color of his stool as well as the fact that he is lethargic and didn't want to eat breakfast. I would have him seen by a vet today.
