As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in cats. In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend.

When using CBD oil products, there is not much research out there that backs any claims at the moment. What we currently have on the market is so variable in strength and the claims are so vast on what it treats. With any CBD oil product, I always caution owners to use them at their own risk. These could have unwanted side effects. I would only use straight CBD oil and not products that contain THC as THC can be toxic to animals. I would speak with the oncologist first and discuss treatment options and ask about CBD products then. I hope this helps!

There are medications that can work for dogs like Oscar with anxiety, and I would speak to her about that. Best of luck.

Thoutghts on CBD oil
There is very limited research on CBD oil concerning pets so far and therefore I would be reluctant to use it on my pets. I suggest waiting until there is more research and proof of beneficial effects as well as research on long-term effects.

You can try keeping an Ecollar on her to prevent her from licking more, and a soothing oatmeal bath may help. I'd also have her seen by her vet to see if there are medications that can help her. So I cannot say if it is safe to give Canyon the CBD oil along with his pain medications. Because of that, I do not recommend it.

In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend. I do find a DAP diffuser is helping for dogs with anxiety, as well as a Sentry calming collar.
