Why is my cockapoo's mouth swollen, crusty, and painful?

Pet's info: Dog | Cockapoo | Female | spayed | 12 years and 8 months old | 16 lbs

Hey I have a 12 year old female cockapoo, the outside of her mouth is so inflamed. It is swollen and crusty and she scratches it so hard it makes her yelp:( She doesn’t like anyone touching it, even if u touch it in the slightest she will cry. She has trouble eating because of it and I want to help my poor baby!! She has had this for a very long time is there anything you think would take the swelling down or anything !? Oh no, poor Roxy! That swelling is really bad. Yes, there may be medication that can help with it, but only a vet can prescribe it. She sounds miserable, so I would take her into a vet immediately.

One side of my dogs mouth/muzzle is swollen. I just noticed it today, so it is new. It appears sensitive to touch. I have tried looking in her mouth as was as inspecting the exterior of her mouth and did not notice anything out of the ordinary.
I would recommend taking Rozzi to a veterinarian. I would call yours in the morning. It is difficult to say definitively what is going on but from the pictures it looks like a potential tooth root abscess. A tooth root abscess can appear as one side of the face or mouth is swollen. The way to treat this is antibiotics, pain meds and pulling the affected tooth. If the swelling gets worse overnight then I recommend an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. I hope Rozzi feels better soon and thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Of my dog has a swollen capalary does she need to be seen by a vet or need medication for it to get better?
It looks like Roxy has had some sort of trauma to the cornea of her eye. Maybe a small scratch or puncture. She should see a veterinarian as soon as possible for an exam. She should be prescribed a topical antibiotic for the eye. She may need other treatment but your veterinarian can determine that.

My 11 year old Jack Russell seems to have a swollen snout. It’s on the right side only and is worn bark at all and won’t let you touch it
Roxie may have gotten bitten or stung by something to cause that location reaction which can be painful. An infected tooth can also cause a swelling in the area. If she is eating and drinking well and acting normal otherwise, then keep her quiet tonight and have your vet check for dental disease tomorrow. If she is lethargic and the swelling gets worse, than I would have her check at an ER tonight

The itchy rash starts on the feet then goes to the mouth causing severe swelling then goes to the eyes causing crusty itchy eyes.
This is probably due to a severe allergy, although it could also be fleas, infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage), then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try discovering the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollins, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair the skin lesions (steroids and antibiotics). Wow, poor Roxy is quite swollen! It could be her lymph nodes that are swollen, and this could be caused by a severe infection or lymphoma. She has to see a vet as soon as possible for this, especially because it is getting more swollen. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on the swellings if it is her lymph nodes. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lymph nodes to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once a diagnosis is made, the vet can discuss treatment options with you. Please bring her into a vet as soon as possible.

Poor Roxy! This could be a cyst, it could be a skin infection, or it could be from allergies. Because she keeps licking and biting it, that tells me it's bothering her, so yes she should see the vet. I would take her to the vet this week. I hope this helps!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I would recommend having this examined by a veterinarian. This type of swelling we can see with severe tooth root abscesses. It is likely reksio will need a course of oral antibiotics and an anti inflammatory. I would get this seen sooner rather than later as this type of infection will conti i.e. to grow bigger until the infection is treated and the tooth removed that is causing the problem otherwise, this can rupture through the skin and he will be left with a large wound on the face. My dog Roxy has been having this bald spot on her right side on her cheek. Were not to sure what it is. At first it was small, probably the size of a dime. But now it's huge. We have another dog and he keeps licking it. We've tried to put medicine on
It looks like a hot spot (moist dermatitis). Your veterinarian should examine Roxy to confirm the diagnosis. Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent pawing or rubbing. The e-collar may keep your other dog away from it as well. Ideally, the area should be clipped and scrubbed by your vet. Topical and/or systemic antibiotic treatment may be indicated.

My dog recently had a course of antibiotics from local vet. This was due to damage on her tail. Vet said she could have athritis in her back but now she can't walk eat drink or isn't urinating much either. Today I noticed her back left leg is swollen
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Roxy! Roxy looks very sick from your pictures and I recommend you take her to a Vet as soon as possible today. I do not think arthritis in her spine is causing the leg swelling or for her to not eat. I am worried about an infected uterus (pyometra which is a surgical emergency), a mass in her belly that may be bleeding, kidney or liver failure, infectious disease. After your Vet examines her they may want to do blood work and X-rays. Sometimes the legs can swell if some blood proteins are very low or if there is a mass pushing on organs or great vessels in the belly. I hope this helps and I wish you and Roxy the very best!

dog has parasite i believe. so do i. severe in teeth, buttocks. dogs is mainly in eyes and neck. she also has issies swallowing.
If you believe Roxy Bree is having these types of medical issues, she should be seen by a veterinarian some time soon for assessment and treatment. The difficulty swallowing is somewhat troubling especially, and not something I would wait on for very long. It could be caused by a mechanical or structural problem that requires correct, or via an inflammatory process that requires a medication. Hope this is helpful.
