Is feeding my cat bread why he stopped eating his regular food?

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 13 days old

I have the chicken and now he is eating it properly. I guess i gave him bread more and chicken less thats why he wadnt eating what u say? Sorry i ask so many questions but i love my pets so much

It's ok, you can ask as many questions as you like! That's what we are here for, to help. Cats typically don't like bread, but tend to love chicken. Give Jasper just the chicken, and still have him seen by a vet.

If Jasper has not eaten anything in three days it is very important he gets a good physical exam by a vet. Cats can store fat in the liver and develop fatty liver disease when they do not eat for a while. It is possible that Jasper ate something he should not and gotten and upset stomach. However different illnesses like dental disease can be issues when cats stop eating. I hope that helps

Hello, is it okay to give my kittens some breads? some rice? or not healthy for them? also every time i eat some cheese chips they come to me meowing so i gave them some and they ate it so I decided to ask if its okay or not?
Cats are carnivores, so they can utilize protein and fat better than any carbohydrates. While rice and bread is not toxic for them, they will be more likely to gain weight if they eat too many carbohydrates, so it is best to limit them to small treats only if at all. Be sure the read the label on the cheese chips to make sure there isn't any onion or garlic powder in them which can be toxic for cats. Hi my dad gave my 8 week old some pieces of white bread with some cat food and was wondering if that was ok?
It is not ideal to feed your pets people food like bread however a small amount should be ok and should not harm your cat. If you do decide to give people food as treats, do so in only small amounts. Use foods that are bland and easily digestible (like a small piece of bread) and have low calories. One of the biggest problems with feeding people food to pets is that it can cause them to become overweight. It can also make them picky eaters in the future.

My cat is sick and I've been told to feed him chicken and rice. But he is not earring the rice, only the chicken. What should I do?
Not to worry - cats are obligate carnivores, meaning that they primarily need meat in their diet. As a bland diet for cats, I typically only recommend offering boiled white meat chicken without rice. Just continue to feed Diggle the chicken for now, as directed. When it comes time to return him to a normal diet, be sure to mix the chicken with his normal food gradually over 5-7 days. My cat didn’t eat his dinner today and doesn’t seem interested in food. He’s a god eater so it’s surprising. He eats twice a day and I mix Sheba with dry wellness for indoor cats. He’s active right now, but I’m worried. Should I let him eat grass?
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Mo. Poor boy! A loss of appetite is often the first sign of illness. It can actually be pretty serious when a cat won't eat, as if they go long enough without eating (about 72 hours), they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. Not eating can be due to many things such as a dental problem, systemic illness, infection, or injury. I would not let him eat grass. Try offering him some boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) or tuna in spring water. If he refuses to eat that, have him seen by a vet in the morning. I hope this helps!

So my cat hasn't been eating as much after coming back from boarding at our vets. He will eat half of the food and walk away but will eat all of his food if I feed it to him. He is acting completely normal other than that and will happily eat treats.
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Oscar. Cats can respond to stress (ie. a boarding stay) with a decrease in appetite. You may want to inquire if he had any vomiting/diarrhea or lack of appetite during his stay. Continue to hand feed him. If his appetite does not return, consult his veterinarian if you can try another diet versus having him seen for an appointment. I hope this information helps!

I have a 8 week old kitten that want eat and is vomiting up white foam
Poor Jasper! This vomiting could be due to GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. You can try a home remedy, but be prepared you may have to take him into an ER vet. I recommend withholding food for 12 hours, then feeding a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.

Is it okay for my cat to eat home chicken? She likes it a lot and she now doesn't eat her own cat food that much. Is it normal? Any tip?
It would be ok to eat a small amount of chicken, as long as it is baked and not fried. She also needs to eat cat food because an all chicken diet is not a nutritional balanced diet for a cat. If she won't eat both and is only looking for chicken than you may need to feed only cat food so she will start eating it again. You could try different varieties and see which one she eats best.

Hi, there. As far as we can figure we are definitely feeding my cat enough. He is maintaining weight, he gets fed several times a day, but he still begs incessantly. His only focus is food and his urgency is a bit alarming. Is there any low-cal tummy
Some kitties will just beg for food constantly. There are great food dispensing toys available which make the cat work for their food. They are balls with an opening. You fill the ball with dry food and Jasper will have to roll it around until it drops a kibble. This will extend feeding time significantly and it will keep him from just eating out of boredom and gives him exercise. your local pet shop should carry this food dispenser, or you can find it on the internet.

I made a mayo and ham and cheese sandwich and put it in a sandwich baggie ontop of my counter. I heard my cat doing something so i went out to look and he started tearing through the bag and ate some of the bread with mayo. Will he be alright?
