My cat is throwing up constantly and won't eat. Should I go to ER vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 2 years and 1 month old | 5 lbs

My cat got into a bag of treats last night and ate a lot- today he hasn’t stopped throwing up. He may have eaten some buffalo chicken that he got into in the garbage (he’s so bad with that) as well. He won’t eat today but keeps throwing up anything left in his stomach and I am not sure if we need to take him to an emergency vet. Please give an opinion :(

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Bean. Oh no, poor boy! It's very serious that he won't eat and keeps throwing up. He sounds quite sick, and yes I think he needs to see a vet now. I strongly urge you to take him into the ER vet immediately. I hope this helps!
