How do I tell if my dog is in respiratory distress?

Extreme difficulty breathing, blue gums, belly moving with the chest with each breath, nostrils flaring open, excessive panting, breathing with the elbows sticking out from the body, and head and neck held low and extended out. If you think Aurum is in respiratory distress, this is a medical emergency and he needs to see a vet now.
