My cats have ear mites and keep scratching. What's the best treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old

Hi, I have 3 cats and they seem to have infected with ear mites one after another. I consulted the vet and he said it's just normal ear wax deposition, but upon cross verifying there condition with articles on internet I'm sure it's the ear mites they have. I live in India and people are very much less aware about cats here including vets it seems. Please guide me with some remedy that I can follow to help my babies. They seem so troubled because of this as they keep scratching. Thanks

The best and easiest treatment is a product called Revolution ( I guess in India they call it Stronghold). Ear mites are easy to kill with this product. You apply the solution to the back of the cat's neck as the instructions will tell you (do not put it in the ears). The product also treats intestinal parasites, heartworms and a number of other parasites. If the ear problem does not resolve with this treatment then it is not ear mites.
