My Labrador puppy won't eat dry food. How can I get her to eat kibble?

My dog is 6 months old, female labrador. She is feeding rice and chiken well. Before somedays from 7 days , she does not want to feed only dry food now like pedigree, Himalayan pet food but rice and chiken are eaten well . Then what can I do for dry pet food? Please suggest me .

I recommend a brand like Royal Canin for her. Mix together the chicken and rice with the dry food and over time, decrease the amount of chicken and rice and increase the amount of dry food until she is eating the dry food only.

You might consider soaking the dog food to make it softer/easier to eat since he is still young. Mixing a small amount of rice or cooked chicken breast or lean ground beef may entice him we just don't want him to fill up on those alone. I am not familiar with the Canine Creek food, be sure it is appropriate for puppies or switch to the Royal Canin puppy food as this is a reliable/trustworthy brand.

I would try mixing the dry and wet food together to see if Aira will eat that, and if she does, gradually decrease the amount of wet food you give her until she eats the dry food only. You can also try that with boiled white meat chicken (no bones). Mix it with the dry kibble, and over time gradually decrease the amount of chicken until she is eating the kibble only. Yes you can as long as it is a food made for puppies. You should soften it a bit first by soaking it with some water or chicken broth for 10 minutes before feeding. Do this until he is comfortable chewing the hard pieces.

A Labrador puppy should be on a large breed puppy food until 15months. A starter food can be used from 2-8weeks as it can be easier to soften and can be fed slightly warm. Be sure to keep up to date with deworming medication and offer additional meals of scrambled egg, canned puppy food or boiled chicken to increase energy intake until stronger

im feeding my pup rice. Because she won't eat her dry kibble what do I need do feed it to her?
I would try canned puppy food as she is young and may now be able to easily chew the dry yet. You can also soak the dry food in warm water until its soft and she may eat it that way. Mixing the canned with the rice will get her started eating dog food and you can gradually change her over to dry as she ages. Most dogs love canned food so try several varieties to see what Cloud will eat. To get proper nutrition she needs to eat dog food so she can grow and be healthy. Rice and milk is not nutritionally balanced for a dog, they require a varied meat based diet. I would recommend trying alternative commercial food which have been fully balanced and slowly mix this with the food she currently likes at about 10% extra per week until at least 80-90% of her diet is dog food

Hi there. You could get some canned food and mix a small amount with her dry food to give it more flavor, and encourage her to eat it - this works well for many dogs who don't always like kibble by itself. Alternatively, you can soak her kibble in a small amount of low-sodium chicken or beef broth before feeding, to soften it a bit and make it taste better.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Maggies is very cute! I think that 4 weeks is too young to be taken from the mother and siblings. At this stage I would mix puppy formula with canned puppy food. If she won't eat that then you can mix the cerelac in with the canned puppy food but I personally do not like animals eating human dairy foods. Gradually over the next week or so add less and less puppy formula and more canned puppy food. Then around 5-6 weeks add moistened dry food. Hopefully by 7 weeks she will be eating all canned or dry puppy food. Good luck!

Chicken and rice isn't a balanced diet for Dahlia, and you can't have her on it long term. Keep adding more dog food back in, and as the amount of chicken and rice decreases, she will get hungry enough to eat her dog food again. Best of luck.

Nova refuses to eat kibble but will readily eat anything else specially dental stick and boiled chicken and will also beg for human food. I currently feed her Royal Canin because that is what our vet recommended. Another brand our vet recommended was
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I recommend Purina Pro Plan shredded blends chicken and rice. This specific diet is very palatable and also very good in terms of nutrition. You could also consider adding dog grade gravy to her food which may improve her appetite. Another thing you can do is add pieces of chicken to the kibble at least for now to encourage her to eat.
