Pet's info: Bird | Parrot | Male | unneutered
Hi i have an alexandrine parrot which is 4 years old now. He started developing an extra growth on the side of his wings i had taken him to the vet but the had no idea what it was it seems like a tumor. I am worried about health and growth as it just seems to keep growing.

Thanks for reaching out about Sonu and including photos. That appears to be a xanthoma, a benign mass that results from inflammation and cholesterol deposition. Check and correct diet. If this continues to grow, they can bleed a lot when damaged. Surgical removal of the mass is difficult as the surrounding tissue does not stretch too much to close wounds. Chronic growing lesion might require a partial wing amputation. Good luck.
