My puppy has white bumps inside his mouth, not bothering him. Normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I discovered this on the inside of my dogs cheeks and one on his lips. He is a English cream golden Retriever 11 months old. It’s a white hard smooth looking bumps. It doesn’t seem to be hurting or bothering him. I don’t know if this is normal or not. It’s on both sides of his mouth.

These look like benign papillomas (warts). They are very common in young dogs and generally don't cause pain but can be severe in some cases. They are also very common in young dogs and are caused by a virus. They are self-limiting which means they generally go away on their own within 1-2 months without any specific treatment. Sometimes they do require cryotherapy for removal in those severe cases, which in this case it doesn't appear to be the case. Take care.
