My cat has a paw bubble. Can I treat it at home? What's a vet cost?

Hi, my cat has a strangle bubble thing on her paw and I’m really worried about it. Is there home remedies for it? And if not how much would a vet visit be?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Elise. That could be as growth or a cyst, but without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. She does need to see a vet for this to have it properly diagnosed and treated. Costs will vary between clinics and the area you live in, but on average, a consult is between $50-$150 to see the vet. I would make an appointment for her. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Any wound or lesion that appears like this in my clients I recommend removal. The edges of the wound appear contracted, which make it harder to say exactly what it looked like before. Likely your pet will need antibiotics as well as having the mass removed. I would recommend sending it off for pathology if you have the ability to do so, just to make sure it is not a mass that will spread. Until you can get your cat to the vet-I recommend an e collar (cone) to keep your pet from licking and further irritating the area. I hope this helps!

My cat has a weird bump on his left paw on his leg. What could this be?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This could even be an abscess. There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. Usually this unfortunately cannot be treated at home since we do not know what it is. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is hard to be 100% from the picture but it looks like she is missing a toe or has had some previous trauma to that paw. If she is eating and isn't limping then it could be normal for her. If your neighbor is planning on adopting her and caring for her long term she will need a Vet visit to be dewormed, vaccinated and spayed. The Vet can check out the paw. I wish you the best!

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco! Any lumps/bumps that you notice on your dog should be checked out by your vet. Lumps can be any of these things: * abscess (infection) * cyst * cancer (benign or malignant) * wart Unfortunately, there is no way I can tell you what it is with 100% certainty just based on your description or by looking at a photo but if I had to guess, I would say it is a benign histiocytoma. If it is a histiocytoma, it should go away on it's own within a few weeks to a month or so. My got hurt her left paw. One of the fingers looks weird I don’t know what happened but he limps or walks picking that paw up. Should I take her to the vet .?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It looks like the paw itself has some inflammation and ulceration. This was probably secondary to a traumatic injury. I do think that it would be best to have Bella evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. One of the main reasons is that lesions in that part of the paw can get easily infected so your veterinarian can prescribe antibiotics. Good luck and have a good night! This lump/bump/growth should be ideally examined by your local vet to have a diagnosis established. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include infections, a skin cyst, benign or more malignant type of tumors. Without seeing him in person, I can’t say exactly what is wrong with his paw, but it may be he injured it, has a broken bone in it, or a foreign body. The fact that he screams whenever you touch it tells me he is in a lot of pain, and unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him. Many human ones are toxi to cats, and are fatal if given. You don’t have a choice but to take him into a vet. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website. I'd also see if you can borrow money from family and friends. http://www.humanesociety.org/animals

The reason is that this may be a local infection site which can be painful and cause her discomfort. Another possibility is a traumatic injury which may need further care or even a tumor. How would I treat pillow pad disease if I have no money and no credit to take my cat to the vet? Would a probiotic help? Something else? I'm desperate to help my cat. If left untreated would she lose her foot?
HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! If you can not take Yoda to the Vet then I recommend soaking her feet in Epsom salt baths twice daily. Use an E-collar to prevent licking. We think that plasma cell pododermatitis can be food allergy related or immune. So you can change her diet to a novel protein (avoid chicken based diets and try venison, duck or fish). The disease can wax and wan and I have seen it resolve with out treatment. I have never seen a cat lose their foot. If she doesn't get better than try your best to find Veterinary care. Some SPCAs have low cost clinics. I hope this helps and good luck!
