My pit bull was attacked and has bleeding chest wounds?

I am puppy sitting three pit bulls all male to neutered and one intact they were out in the yard playing with a tennis ball when the two younger ones attacked the older one he got beat up pretty bad most of his wounds have stopped bleeding except for the few that are on his chest he has been excepting treats and water but mostly just sleeping

He's in a lot of pain and he needs antibiotics as well as pain medication. Please contact his owners to get permission to get him into a vet now. Best of luck.

Poor Princess! Her irregular breathing is quite concerning. There is a chance that it is a result of pain from the attack, or could be an indication that the pit bull's tooth punctured her chest cavity. Bite wounds are typically worse under the surface of the skin than they appear externally. Princess needs to see a vet immediately for an exam, possible chest x-rays due to her irregular breathing, and antibiotics and pain medication. I hope that she is feeling better soon!

Hi there and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Bleeding is never normal. If you are unsure of where the bleeding is coming from, I would recommend Taz see his veterinarian for an exam to help determined where the bleeding is occurring so it can be stopped and addressed appropriately.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I highly recommend that you have both of your pups evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. These wounds can get infected very easily. Also, it is crucial to check if any of these wounds need further local therapy such as stitches. Your veterinarian could also start pain medications as usually lacerations like that are painful. Have Luna seen by a vet now. There could be internal injures from being bit by the pitbull, and only a vet can diagnose that. In addition, dog bites frequently become infected, and oral antibiotics are needed to prevent an infection. It's very important though to have her seen by a vet right away to make sure she doesn't have internal injuries, so that is what I think you should do. Take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. I cannot determine what the mass is by the picture but it is definitely infected at this time. I recommend taking Chicken to the vet to diagnose the mass by sticking a needle in it and looking at the cells under the microscope. Once the mass is diagnosed a treatment plan can be made. Since it is infected the best option will likely be surgical removal. Good luck and kisses to Chicken!

Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. You should take Murphy to your local vets for an appointment as this wound should be clipped, cleaned, flushed and potentially stitched up under sedation. It would take a very long time to heal if the wound was treated with antibiotics only. The symptoms of infection usually develops in the first 24hrs and include fever, discharge, swelling and pain around the wound.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Oh no! Poor Killer! you need to get Killer to a Vet today. The wound itself needs surgery to explore it and close it with stitches. But the Vet has to make sure that the leg isn't broken and he isn't in shock. Ultimately if it is just the wound he should be fine. He will need that wound addressed. I wish Killer the best!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Dudley! If Dudley is acting fine then yes, he should be fine by the morning. Clean the sites with water and a mild soap. The only thing that could cause the wounds to be emergent and require him to be seen right away is if the 2 punctures are a snake bite. If it is possible that it COULD be a snake bite then he should be seen right away. I wish you the best!

These sores could be caused by a skin infection that was just starting when you first say your vet, but is now worse and needs treatment. The sores could also be caused by parasites, allergies, or even be wounds. I recommend scheduling another appointment with your veterinarian so they can see what her skin looks like now. Also ask your veterinarian about the aspirin usage - there are better and safer medications available for arthritis that they may be able to get for you. Good luck!
