My dog ate plastic and is throwing up. Does he need an emergency vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog ate small pieces of plastic bottle a couple of days ago, today he threw up three times consecutively and some small pieces were visible. He’s eating and drinking normally and passed stool normally as well. Should I be worried or take him to the emergency vet?

The fact that he is still eating and passing stool is a good sign and I would continue to monitor closely. Any persistent vomiting or pain would indicate the need for a full check up and likely xrays
