Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 3 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs
Hi. 3.5 year old male cat, indoor only, with diarrhea. He otherwise seems himself. Eating and drinking well. No change to his diet - they’ve been on the same dry and canned food (even flavour) for 3 years. Second cat in the house is fine. It initially improved with pumpkin. I’m not sure whether to try an anti-diarrheal or a probiotic. Also not sure whether he needs a vet assessment given the otherwise good health?

I would try a probiotic first if he is otherwise eating and acting normally. If after a few days of starting the probiotic and there is no improvement then a vet exam would be warranted. Do not give any over the counter anti-diarrheals. Fortiflora would be the best probiotic to use, in my opinion. You can use any one made for cats (no human products).
