Why shouldn't I bandage my dog's ear hematoma before seeing a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 5 years and 1 month old

dog ear hematoma. Should I/can I wrap it until I get to the vet on Monday. So the answer was no. Now why is the answer no? I have been and he seems to like it better

If you wrap it too tightly, that can cut off the blood supply to the ear and make things worse, which is why I said no. I've seen owners wrap things and cause serious problems, worse than the original problem. It also doesn't help the hematoma. The ear will still end up misshapen and if the bandage slips, the dog may strangle.

    No, a hematoma is a blood clot that has formed due to shaking and scratching. usually secondary to an ear infection or an allergy. You can try to clean the ear to loosen up any discharge or was that may be irritating him. A wrap is usually after it is drained but will not due much for the currently swelling.
