Hi there. Generally, signs of an intestinal blockage would include repeated episodes of vomiting, not eating, acting lethargic, and not having regular bowel movements. So if you're not seeing any of those issues, this shouldn't be a concern. :) There are many things that could cause some soft stool with traces of blood, including intestinal parasites, an intestinal infection of some kind, or an upset stomach due to something he ate. If the problem seems to be resolving on its own, you could opt to just monitor for the next few days to make sure things get back to normal. If the soft stool or traces of blood persist, then I would recommend a vet visit - your veterinarian can check his stool for parasites or other problems, and should be able to get him started on appropriate treatment to get things cleared up.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Since the stools are just a bit softer but not diarrhea, I do not think that you have to go to a veterinarian right this second. You could try a bland diet composed mainly of boiled chicken and white rice which is easily digestible and can help with an upset stomach. If he develops diarrhea, have him evaluated by a veterinarian then. Good luck and have a great day!
