My dog has something in her eye. Should I worry or is it normal?

The third eyelid is out. The third eyelid is a normal part of the anatomy of a dog's eye, but it should not be out when the eye is open. That tells me something is wrong with his eye. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Please take him into a vet now.

Given that she acts ok and responds to you, I would be less inclined to think it was a seizure. She should be seen by a vet, as any eye problem is considered an emergency. The vet can diagnose if it is her third eyelid coming out or not, or if seizures are the cause, and can treat according to the diagnosis.

That is a very good looking puppy! It can be quite normal for some breeds,including beagles, to have a little bit of droopiness in the lower eyelids. This allows you to visualize their third eyelid, which is the bright pink membrane that you see in the photos. Your pet’s eyes appear normal. Thank you for using Boop by Petco! I can definitely see that Bailey's eye has lost hair around it has a considerable amount of redness. This can be caused by chronic scratching and discharge, which are both indications of discomfort. This can be caused by infections, foreign material in the eye, conjunctivitis, and even corneal ulcers. I recommend having Bailey seen by her vet as soon as possible. You can get her an E-collar or cone to keep her from scratching the eye and causing more trauma in the meantime.
