Why is my puppy vomiting, sleepy, and wobbly after the park?

It is a good that he ate this morning but If he vomits today or seems lethargic than he should be examined by your vet. If he doesn't vomit today than he probably just had an upset stomach from something he ate, he may have ate too fast, or possibly been affected by the heat.

It sounds as though Samson may have injured himself while playing at the dog park. He could have a sprain or strain of one of his muscles or ligaments in his joints. He may have over done it at the park and become slightly overheated as well. Make sure he has plenty of access to water and a comfortable place to rest for the night. If he continues being lethargic, limping and/or vomiting over the weekend I would recommend taking him to be checked out by your vet on Monday.

If he was older I probably wouldn’t be as worried, but those little guys can get dehydrated so quickly. If he vomits again I think he should be seen at an emergency clinic. He could have just irritated his GI tract from getting into so much stuff today. However, I also worry about parasites and viral infections such as parvovirus. If he continues to vomit, starts to have any diarrhea, or if tomorrow he won’t eat then those are all signs that he should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. First of all, Peewee is beyond adorable! Overeating can certainly lead to one episode of vomiting followed by a good nap. If Peewee wakes up from his nap and is acting normally without further vomiting, there is likely no need for concern. However, if he seems uncomfortable, vomits more, or is lethargic, he may need to be evaluated by his vet. Odds are that he will be just fine after a big dinner! :-)

Behavior like this can be concerning in a young puppy, because puppies are supposed to be active and playful most of the time. With vomiting in a young puppy I always worry about parvovirus and intestinal parasites. If she has not been vaccinated or dewormed I would recommend taking her to your vet to be examined so that these two diseases can be ruled out. If Luna is up to date with her vaccinations and wormings and has only vomited one time, you could keep an eye on her for the next 24 hours and see how she does. The vet can be pretty stressful, and it's possible the meds given caused some drowsiness (it would be hard to say without knowing what was given). I would keep an eye on Brinx and let him rest tonight and see how he is doing in the morning. If he is still lethargic in the AM or refuses to eat even a bland meal, letting you vet know is best.

I'm sorry your puppy isn't feeling well. Vomiting can be a simple upset stomach or can be something more serious like Parvo or an eaten foreign object. If your puppy can't keep food down, they need to see a vet right away. Especially if they are lethargic and not acting right.

It sounds as Milo is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Poor puppy. These symptoms of being wobbly, with no associated vomiting or diarrhea, don't necessarily mean he got into a poison. Typically there are some GI symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea) when a pet ingests something they shouldn't have. There could be an internal problem going on or a primary neurological condition. Also a possibility is an adverse reaction to a recent topical flea product or heartworm medication. The Benadryl will likely make him a bit sleepy, so don't be alarmed if you see that. I would consider taking him to your ER vet for further testing, if there is no immediate suspicion for his symptoms, because treating the underlying problem right away is our primary goal here, so that we can hopefully reverse the neurological symptoms before they cause permanent damage. I'm sorry little Maximus isn't doing well! It could be that he overfed leading him to vomit, and I would keep an eye on him for now. If he starts vomiting again, starts eating less, and/or become very lethargic, I would take him into a vet immediately. Make sure he stays warm, well hydrated, and eats.
