My 9-week puppy has soft stool. Can I give her white rice?

Hello, 9 week puppy had a watery stools, being dewormed and stool is getting more solid but still combined with soft. I just got her brand new today. May I give her some white rice tonight? Or I wait till tomorrow? I want to make an appointment with the vet at petco for tomorrow morning

Hello. Yes, you can certainly feed your puppy some cooked rice along with her puppy food. It may help with the stool, but certainly not make things any worse. Hopefully your new friend will continue improve. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

    Hello, sorry to hear about your pup. White rice would be a good bland diet, however the diarrhea is unlikely to resolve completely until the parasites are fully treated. If you plan on seeing a veterinarian tomorrow, then it may be best to wait until then so she may receive a full physical examination. A still sample may also be necessary to confirm there are no parasites in his stool. Hope this helps and best of luck.
