Why is my dog throwing up often but still eating and playing normally?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 6 years old | 13 lbs

We were out for a walk when my dog suddenly started limping. One of her back legs seemed to be cramped up and it was shaking. It went away after about 2 hours and she seemed back to normal but I’m concerned as to what that may be. She has a history with seizures and she also seems to throw often too often. Sometimes it looks like she threw up food while other times it’s foamy. She doesn’t seem “sick” however. She seems to eat and drink just fine and still likes to play around.

It could be that Sami overdid it on the walk, and that caused the limping. If she is back to normal with that, I'd keep an eye on her for now. I'm concerning about the vomiting, which isn't normal. Have her seen by a vet for this.
