My Best friend has lumps which to me are soft half a golfball in size. His name is Drake and he is 8 yrs old and is a Labrador retriever, and is the best friend you could ever have!! They didn't appear to be painful until today. They populate around shoulders and towards the bottom of his lungs near hind legs. He's acting very lethargic . Please help me he's my best friend!!!

Poor Drake. These lumps could be lypomas or growths (benign or malignant). Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Give his vet a call to make him an appointment.
