My 5-month-old Aussie puppy has a head injury. What happened?

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 40 lbs

I came home last night to my 5 month old Australia shepherd with this on top of his head. Only ones around was 11 yro girl and a very fiesty Chihuahua...any idea what may of caused this?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Colsen. It could be from an injury. If you have a very feisty Chihuahua. they could have been playing and it may have gone a little far causing this. I would gently clean the wound with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and he will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. I hope this helps!
