What to do for my Persian cat's watery eye with yellow discharge?

My Persian cat one eye is watery since yesterday, yellowish mucus is coming out. Can you recommend some home treatments or eye drops for him. He is 14 months old. Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 9.92 lbs

Unfortunately a part from cleaning the eye with a wet cloth, there is no effective remedy that can be performed at home. This presentation is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well.
