Ruby's eye being warm and dry is not a sign of illness. A dog's nose can go from wet and cold to warm and dry just from sitting in the sun, and laying next to a heat source. I would have her seen by a vet for the stuffy nose to get medication to treat it.

You could put him in a steamy bathroom or a room with a humidifier/vaporizer and see if that helps moisten any secretions and relieve the congestion. You could also try a saline nasal spray. Otherwise, he needs to be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. He may need an antibiotic and/or other medications and your vet can prescribe.

My dog keeps sneezing and is a very warm nose
I'm sorry Maisy isn't feeling well at the moment. Don't worry about the temperature of her nose, as it's not considered a sign of illness in dogs. That's because a dog's nose can change from cold to warm just by sitting next to a heat source or lying in the sun. The sneezing could be caused by a respiratory infection or allergies. I would monitor Maisy for now, and should the sneezing continue over the next 24-48 hours, she become lethargic, her appetite diminishes, and/or she develops other signs, I would have her seen by a vet.

Poor Bella! Her nasal congestion could be due to infection, allergies, nasal masses (benign or malignant) or foreign material in the nasal passages. One thing that you can try at home is to take Bella into a steamy bathroom for 10-15 minutes twice daily. However, if the nasal discharge continues or is yellow or green, she should be examined by her vet, as this could indicate infection.

Hi, my 4 month old border terrier has a congested nose and sounds very snuffley. It does some to get better as the day goes on and he has no cough etc. Still perky and eating / drinking normally. Should I take him to the vet?
A stuffy nose and sniffles could be a signs of an upper respiratory infection. We could also have allergies or inhalation of a foreign body into the nasal passages. If this has been going on for a few days, the safest course of action is a vet exam. The vet may need to prescribe an antibiotic or antihistamine for your pup.

My dog has a stuffy nose it sounds like and sometimes blows snot bubbles what can I do for her.
Poor girl. It sounds like Macie may have an upper respiratory infection. You should have her seen by your vet within the next 24-48 hrs and they will put her on a short course of antibiotics to hopefully clear things up. Most upper respiratory infections in dogs are caused by a bacteria, so this is the proper and only course of treatment that will help resolve her symptoms. My dog has a warm runny nose. Sneezes only occasionally. Should I try some chicken soup and a teaspoon of honey?
It is probably nothing to worry about. It is normal for Missy to have a warm, wet nose (dry and cool is also normal). I would monitor for coughing, lethargy, and loss of appetite but would not change anything at this time.

It's a very general sign of illness, and can be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. If Winston is eating and drinking, and his only symptom is lethargy, you can watch him for now. Keep him warm and comfortable. Should this lethargy continue over the next 48 hours, or he develops other signs such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, sneezing, nasal discharge, or anorexia, he will have to see a vet. A dry or wet nose means nothing. Throughout the day his nose may go through periods or dry and wet. Monitor for discharge, lethargy or difficulty breathing. If he is eating, drinking and acting normally then he is likely fine.

We got a dog who was never vaccinated and just had puppies. After she gave birth she lost a lot of weight. We increased her food since she was nursing but then stopped the puppies at 4 weeks because she was getting weak. She has been drinking a lot
It sounds as if your dog is indeed ill. It is not normal for her to have a stuffy nose and eye discharge, nor is it normal for her to be lethargic and not eating enough. Excesssive drinking is also a concern. She could be having a seripous infection such as distemper, or kidney failure or endocrine disease. She urgently needs to be seen by a veterinarian today.
