Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | 1 year and 10 months old | 390 lbs
It was always kind of difficult to feed our dog ever since we got her and we always had to "encourage" her to eat, and she would eventually eat the food she was given, but we would often find ourselves heating up her food in the microwave, adding chicken or adding some of her treats in her meal only to make her eat. We've tried to have strict meal times, but that doesn't work and she would usually vomit because of an empty stomach. What can I do to make our dog eat without any struggle?

There can be many reasons for finicky eating: https://www.petcoach.co/article/my-pet-is-a-finicky-eater/ Some dogs are also just not good eaters. My advice is to pick a high quality food and stick with it. The two brands that seem to be most palatable are Royal Canin and Purina ProPlan. Also, as long as your pet is healthy, its ok if she skips a couple meals. Dogs are smart and they often train humans to give them something else. The more you add things, the more finicky she may become. If she vomits from an empty stomach, wait a an hour after meal time and then give her a small snack (like a couple dog biscuits). That way she has something on her belly and does not associate the treat with meal time (you certainly don't want to reward not eating well). Have her examined if illness or a medical cause is suspected. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
