New 9-month-old dog: What vaccinations, training, and care are needed?

I have a 9 months dog for about 1 week I think she is fine but i want to know what should i do for it i mean vaccination and prevent parasite and also training and washing it

Congrats on your new dog, Peppen is so cute. You need to make an appointment with a vet to get her vaccines (she will need her DHPPi combination shot (distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza) as well as rabies), and the vet can prescribe flea and deworming treatments. You can talk to the vet about training classes you can enroll her in, and you do not need to bathe her more than once a month unless she is very dirty.

You should book a vet appointment as soon as you can for a routine check up and vaccinations and de worming. Your vet can help you with any vaccines you need for your area but typically the first/ basic vaccine is a combined coverage for 4-5 typical and common diseases and is pretty standard. Rabies is usually recommended and given as a separate injection (during the same appointment). You will need to take your dog for a second appointment for some follow up boosters (you vet will tell you when, usually a couple weeks to a month later). Until these vaccines have been administered and a couple weeks have passed before your dog is provided with full immunity, it is best to avoid public places where other dogs frequent or contact with other dogs to prevent infection of illness.

We acquired Onyx from an older senile woman. We have no idea what her vaccination record is, although we were told she is up to date, and our vet does not do titer tests. She is approximately 8 months old. We have doubts she was vaccinated properly.
Congratulations on your new dog! If the vaccine history is uncertain, I would recommend starting the vaccine series as though she had not had any vaccines, which would involve a rabies vaccine, and then 2 rounds 3 to 4 weeks apart of the DHPP vaccine. Depending on your dog's lifestyle and where you live, I would also consider the leptosporosis vaccine and the bordetella vaccine. Your vet can discuss these options and your lifestyle with you and help you to decide what vaccines to choose.

All dogs should have at least a rabies vaccine and distemper/parvovirus (DHPP) combination vaccine. If your dog has never had vaccines, he will need to be boosted with the distemper/parvovirus combination in 3-4 weeks. The rabies vaccine he gets will be a 1 year vaccine and next year he can get a 3 year booster. If there is a Petco/Vetco near you, then you can have him vaccinated there. Just adopted an 8 week old Cane Corso pup, what shots and tests should we get done, and when?
Hi there! Congratulations on your new pup :) If she hasn't had anything done yet, she will need a vet visit for her first DAPP vaccine (for distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) as well as a general wellness check-up. She should also have a fecal exam for parasites, and should be dewormed if any are found. She's also old enough to start on heartworm prevention if this is a problem in your area - the vet should be able to advise you if this is needed. After that, she will need to have her DAPP vaccine boostered every 3-4 weeks until she's 16 weeks or older. She will also need a rabies vaccine at 16 weeks. Other vaccinations, such as Lyme disease, leptospirosis, or Bordetella (kennel cough) may also be recommended depending on what is common in your area and her risk of exposure. Your veterinarian should discuss this with you at her check-up visit, and will let you know if any of these vaccines are needed.

I have a nine week old puppy. If I start vaccinating now, would I use a 5 way and how many times?
At nine weeks of age the distemper combination vaccination series can be started (sometimes called a 5-way, sometimes called a DHPP or DAPP. This vaccine needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks until your puppy is 16 weeks of age. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian if your puppy hasn't had one yet and getting his vaccinations done by a veterinarian. There are a few reasons for this. The vet can examine your puppy to be sure there aren't any health problems/congenital disease that are a concern. The vet can do a fecal test to be sure your pup doesn't have intestinal parasites, which are very common at this age. The vet can also discuss other vaccines that may be appropriate for your puppy (such as the bordetella or kennel cough vaccine and the leptosporosis vaccine). You can be certain the vaccines given by the vet are gauranteed to be safe and effective (and purchased by a company that gaurantees their efficacy and will pay for treatment if there was vaccine failure)

Congratulations on your new puppy! It is very important to get her vaccines started immediately! Parvo is a devastating disease that is highly preventable with appropriate vaccinations. Make an appointment with her veterinarian ASAP to start her vaccine series and get her tested for parasites. Until she finishes her vaccine series, you must avoid public areas as this is where she is most likely to pick up disease. You also need to start her on flea and heart worm prevention to help avoid her getting parasites that she can spread to humans. Lastly, plan on getting her spayed soon. Spayed female dogs are more likely to avoid several types of cancers and infections as well as unwanted pregnancies. Please post with any further questions!

Hello, I was given this paper with vaccine information when I picked up my first puppy. What exactly has he been vaccinated for and what vaccines do you recommend he get?
It looks like Shep has gotten two doses of a DHPPi combination shot, and a Neopar vaccine at five weeks, which would have had no effect on him (he was too young for it). He needs another DHPPi combination shot as well as rabies. The next DHPPi combination shot should be given four weeks after the last one, so it should be done 5/13/19. You can get his rabies vaccine done at 12 weeks of age. I hope this helps!

We just goy a 12wk old chorkie puppy she has been dewormed and a few shots...log is attached...what does she need next?
According to that her vaccine was given in 2/22 which makes her over due for the next series. The distemper and parvo vaccine is given every 3 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. Make an appointment with your vet as soon as possible to up date her Her dewormed are complete at this point

I'm wondering what shots I need to give my 9 week old puppy? I live in NY so is it different than other states? I have been getting all different answers to what shots my pup needs I just want a real answer.
Lucy should have a distemper combination (DAPPV)shot now and then repeated every 2 to 4 weeks until she is 16 weeks old. Once she is at least 12 weeks old she can have her Rabies shot. In your area it is likely recommended that she be vaccinated for leptospirosis and Lyme disease. Depending on if she's going to be kenneled or go to a groomer she may also need the kennel cough vaccine. I would discuss with your veterinarian I was optional vaccines.

What should i do for my pup to make her healthy?
Make sure she has vaccines including DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza) and rabies. Depending on her age, the vet the can tell you her vaccination schedule. Spay her before she goes into her first heat (around six months of age) to significant reduce the risk of her developing mammary tumors and eliminate the chance of her developing a pyometra later in life. Put her on a good flea and tick prevention program, make sure to deworm her, and give her heartworm protection. I would have your pup seen by a vet this week to start all of these things to keep her healthy :-)
