My cat came back with a missing eye, will he be okay without it?

My cat left for a few days and came back with a missing eye, he does look like something got him he’s not bleeding and doesnt seem to be in pain, will he be ok with no eye?

From the picture, it does not look like Sonic's lost an eye, but the conjunctiva around his eye is so swollen that it is covering his eye completely. This is a medical emergency, and I can guarantee this is very painful to him. You have no option but to take him into a vet immediately.

My cats eye is swollen
His eye does look swollen! He could have injured his eye or he could have an eye infection. The eye is such an important and delicate structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take him into a vet immediately to diagnose what is causing his eye to be swollen so it can be treated.

Yes, it does look like she suffered some trauma to that eye. From the photo, it looks like the eye probably cannot be saved. Kitty should see a veterinarian as soon as possible for an exam. I can guarantee this is excruciating painful to him, and this is now a medical emergency. Leaving this untreated would be very cruel to him, you have to take him into a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website. Yes, you are correct that James needs to see a vet immediately! It looks there is blood in his eye in your pictures, and this is a medical emergency. Leaving this untreated can lead to permanent vision loss. This will also be very painful to him. I would tell your mother that you spoke to a vet for free, and were advised that he has to see a vet now. Please take him into a vet right away.

I had my cat have enucleation to remove one eye because he wasn't seeing with it and in pain all the time.. i went to get him five hours after the surgery he was dripping blood out of that eye and it was swollen the vet didn't put a patch on the eye
I'm sorry Kouty had to have his eye enucleated! My own cat needed his eye enucleated recently, and I have to say that one eyed cats are very handsome! While you can see some bleeding after surgery, it shouldn't continue for days after surgery. Blood tinged discharge is normal, but active bleeding is not. I think you did the right thing by leaving him in the clinic for observation, but the bleeding should be stopped when you get him tomorrow. My own cat didn't have active bleeding after his surgery, he had some mild bloody discharge that stopped pretty quickly. If you see him still actively bleeding tomorrow, I would be concerned and have the vet check him out. My cat didn't have a patch on his eye, but he did have an Ecollar on to keep him from scratching at his eye while the area healed. I would recommend having one of those for him. I hope this helps, and that Kouty heals well!

Cat's eye is glossed over and he is squinting.
I see what you mean. He could be squinting because the light is painful to his eye, and it may be he has injured his eyes or has an eye infection. Any eye problem is an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I'd take him into a vet right away to get checked out. Best of luck.

My cat fall down and hurt it's left eye. Which resulted the eyelid to go big and reddish eye cornea. No excessive tears but has some problems regarding it's vision while lights are turned on. What could be it's remedy Please answer.

We found a kitten with swelling around the eye, covering the eye and sticks out about a half inch. WY wife wants to keep him. Is he in danger of losing his eye? We can't afford a vet, what should we do?
No home care options are appropriate here. This kitten needs emergency veterinary care immediately to reduce the pressure around the eye and reduce the pain and swelling he is suffering. HE will most likely needthe eye to be removed in order to prevent ongoing pain, it is highly unlikely any sight can be restored at this stage. Please consider surrendering him to the local humane society to get him the help he so desperately needs.

So i noticed today that my male cats left eye is swollen and filled with puss. Im thinking he must have gotten in a fight with another cat and he got scratched in the eye. I think hes blind now in that eye but i cant see anything other than just puss
Poor Tiger! It sounds like he may have a corneal ulcer or very severe conjunctivitis. Eye conditions can be very painful and can quickly progress to emergencies, so Tiger should be seen by a vet right away, as an ulcer is unlikely to heal on its own. In the meantime, you can get Tiger an E-collar or "cone" to prevent him from scratching the eye and causing further trauma. I hope this helps and that all is well with Tiger!

Considering the pics you uploaded, I can say there is a deep and severe corneal ulcer with a possible penetrating injury. An immediate check up is required to confirm this clinical suspicion and treat appropriately. Antibiotic eye drops are certainly needed but a surgical intervention may be required.
