My dog has parvo and vomited sticky liquid. What should I do now?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 4 months and 11 days old | 8 lbs

Mocha is a dog of mine who is diagnosed with parvo. I give her 2 tblspn of water every 15 minutes. after 2 hours, she vomited something sticky. should I give her the water right away and continue what I'm doing?

I took Mokaah into the vet like you suggested yesterday and she came out postitivie for parvo
While I'm glad you took Mokaah into the vet as suggested, I'm so very sorry that she came out positive for parvo. I really feel for you and her, and the best thing you can do it have her stay with the vet for intensive supportive care. She needs medications which include antibiotics (injectable Cefazolin or Ampicillin is needed is she isn't eating), anti-nausea medication (i.e Cerenia or Metoclopramide), and nutritional support (Nutri-cal, available over the counter perhaps at your local pet store). As long as she is getting fluid therapy, she is getting much needed electrolytes which is greatly beneficial towards her improvement because dehydration is the number one cause of death in these pets. You can also offer her small amounts of Pediasure using a syringe or small turkey baster. I hope she recovers and feels better soon!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Parvovirus is a severe gastroenteritis that affect puppies more often. This is a viral infection so there is no direct treatment for the virus so the treatment per se is directed at treating secondary bacterial infections and mostly helping with the clinical symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence. This warrants ideally hospitalization with some cases being able to be managed with outpatient care depending on its severity. I recommend that you follow up with a veterinarian who can institute therapy for Loki as soon as possible. The quicker this condition gets treated the better the outcome tends to be. Good luck! Hello, I need some advice for a dog who's coming down with parvo.
Hi there. I am assuming you are looking for advice for treatment? Your dog will need to be seen by a veterinarian for a diagnosis of parvovirus. If you have already done this-your doctor has probably encouraged you to hospitalize her with iv fluids and antibiotics to replace all the fluids she will lose with diarrhea and vomiting. She will likely be administered anti nausea medication and liquid nutrition or iv nutrition if she cannot or will not eat. Depending on the severity of the case, she may stay anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks in the hospital. I hope this is what you were asking for.
