Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 12 lbs
I returned home after 36 hours away to find bile vomit in a few places, and my cat never throws up. He also hasn’t used the litter box, which he maybe avoiding because I accidentally bought different non-clay stuff or because he is worried about getting crates after I recently cornered him there to take him to the vet. He did recently drink some water and hasn’t thrown it up, but he hasn’t used the litter box, either. I am supposed to go out for holiday stuff. How do I know he is ok?

Oh no, poor Batmanuel. He sounds sick. He may be avoiding the litter box if you changed litters, cats are very particular about their litter. I'd keep an eye on him for now, and if when you come home you find more vomit or no evidence of him using the litter box, have him seen by a vet.
