My dog has raw, licked bumps that popped. Does she need a vet?

My dog has these bumps on her body. She has one by her leg that she has licked raw, and kind of made a blood blister and it popped this morning. I am not sure what I should do.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Chichi. Those look like growths, and the one pictured appears to have pus in the third picture. Pus means it's infected. I think it's a good idea to have these checked out by a vet. The vet can treated the bump that appears infected and can discuss treatment for the other bumps. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! The pinker skin growths in your first picture tend to be benign and are sebaceous adenomas. For some reason some dogs grow a lot of them. The pinker bump in her groin could be the same type of growth or different. If you never noticed it before and she is now licking it it could be infected or a mast cell tumor. The darker spots are darken skin from licking. It could also be a skin infection but it is hard to tell from just pictures. My recommendation is to have your Vet examine that larger lump and the skin in her groin. She may just need antibiotics and itch relief but worse case she may need the growth removed if it is suspicious. I wish Honey the best!

Hello, the night before last I noticed my dog Lee licking at what appears to be a sore and yesterday I noticed its swollen. But I'm concerned because it looks like a lump is growing. This is the first time I see something like this. Is this serious?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Lee! Based on your photo is appears to be either a pyoderma (skin infection) or a hot spot (superficial skin infection). Because it is getting worse quickly, make an appointment tomorrow to get your Vet to look at ti. They will likely prescribe antibiotics, something for the itch, and maybe a topical. Good luck!

My dog has been breaking out in bumps what should I do

just discovered this on my 4 yr old shih tzu. He isn’t acting like he is hurt but he has a raw looking bump on his foot. Any clue as to what it could be? Should I take him to the vet? Picture should be attached. Thank you!
Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. I do recommend that he sees a veterinarian. The bump looks very raw. He may need an antibiotic or a topical cleansing solution to help it heal. He could have a small cut that has gotten infected or even have a mass that has grown there. Do not let him lick the area. Place an E-collar on him if necessary. I hope this information helps!

I noticed my pitbull has a small red lump on the side of her abdomen by her upper thigh where her waist starts i guess. She doesnt seem bothered by it, shes beem eating and playing normal. Only thing out of the norm, which may be completely unrelated

Based on your description and pictures, I would recommend having the red bump examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Your vet can insert a small needle into the mass to help better determine what the mass could be. My dog Liara had these bumps pop up a few weeks ago. I assumed she was bitten by an insect and they would go away. Now they are swollen, red, and almost pussy. Should I worry?
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Based on your photo and the description I would suspect that this is a bacterial skin infection know as superficial pyoderma. I would recommend using the following treatments, which can all be found online quite easily. If there is no improvement or the bumps worsen, I would recommend having them looked at by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate treatment and diagnostic recommendations can be made. 1. Douxo PS chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply to affected area twice weekly until resolved I hope this helps! My dog has a large bump on the top of his back foot. It seems to have grown lately and sometimes looks a little red and raw, he does lick it. The vet said it wasn’t cancer but didn’t say anything else. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. It appears as though it could be a lick granuloma, a chronic granuloma that Ruger has been licking for a while now. These are benign but can persist for a very long time, if not for the life of the animal. You can have these removed, but unfortunately these typically develop in areas where there is not much skin to close after removing the lesion. You could biopsy this area to ensure this is not cancer and just manage this with topical ointments and pain medications. I would discuss further options with your veterinarian.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! These could be benign or malignant growths. There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. What are these bumps on my dog? Should I get him checked?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I can't make out the bump in the 2nd picture very well. In the first picture the bump looks like a benign sebaceous adenoma. Some dogs, poodle and bichon breeds especially, tend to get a lot of them. In the second picture I can't tell if the area is crusty. Sometimes the sebaceous adenomas secrete thick brown discharge or if the bump is a scab from an infection. If the areas grow or spread I would have them looked at by your Vet. Otherwise the next time you have him in for an exam have them take a look. I hope this helps!

I squeezed a small bump on my dogs back, a small amount of blood came out and clear fluid. I’m wondering if I should rush to the vet?

There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point.
