My cat is scratching his ears, but they look clean. What could it be?

My cat has been scratching his ears but it looks clean and there isn't any discharge. What's going on?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is possible that this is secondary to ear mites or allergies. I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and have the ears tested to see what the possible cause is. I hope this helps!
