My cat has a scratch but seems fine. Should I take him to the vet?

my cat got a scratch and I dont know if its serious enough to bring him into the vet since he doesnt seem even fazed or bothered by it

If it's clean and dry and doesn't seem to be bothering him, I would keep an eye on it. If it is a deep scratch or wound and is gaping, bleeding or someplace where he wants to groom and lick it all the time, then it should be seen by a vet. If you elect to keep an eye on it and see how it does, make sure it stays clean and dry. If it starts to swell, drain, bleed or weep fluid, if he starts to pay a lot of attention to it, loses his appetite, becomes lethargic or acts off in any way, he should be seen by your vet to get him on the road to healing.
