My dog is vomiting, has diarrhea, head bobbing. Is it an emergency?

Pet's info: Dog | Shorkie | Female | spayed | 4 lbs

Sheeba is about 14, and a rescue from a severe case of neglect. Her neck and back are damaged and distorted. She was on Rimadayl for pain, half a tab once a day. When she ran out, I couldn't stand to see her in agony. But I couldn't get a refill as my dad's surgeries wiped us out. I was giving her chips of Tramadol my cat was prescribed once a day. She been away from that for a few days and back on her meds. Now though, she's vomiting, has diahrrea and keeps bobbing head/neck. I don't know what

I think the best thing to do is take her into a vet immediately. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor girl! It sounds like Binny is very dehydrated. Because there are so many causes of vomiting, diarrhea, and inappetance in dogs it's impossible to say what one thing might be causing this. She could have an intestinal obstruction, cancer, GI parasites, a food sensitivity, infection, endocrine disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or toxin exposure (among other things). Binny's signs are very concerning to me and she needs to be examined by a veterinarian right away. She may need blood tests and X-rays to diagnose her. The sooner treatment is started the better her chances for a recovery. Thanks for using Boop by Petco and I hope Binny gets the care she needs and is feeling better soon!

My dog is shaking and has vomited today he is a diabetic
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Lucky evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is possibly becoming dehydrated. Also, it is concerning the fact that he is diabetic as you need him to be keeping his food down to give him the insulin. This vomiting could potentially be due to the diabetes. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

My dog has arthritis and Friday was vomiting. Now today she won’t get up and she isn’t eating. She also is shivering so we have covered up. Is there anything else I can do to make her more comfortable
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. I am concerned that she is not getting up and not eating. She may be dehydrated from the vomiting and the shivering may not be due to her being cold but may be due to her not feeling well. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would start by having her blood tested and abdominal x-rays taken to help determine what the cause of these symptoms could be. I hope this helps and that Sophie gets better soon! It sounds as Star is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I am sorry Sam isn't doing well! I think at this point Same needs to be seen before Monday. Since he is now vomiting for 2 days and not eating that is more concerning than just diarrhea. Possible causes for these signs are: viral or bacterial infections, foreign body, dietary indiscretion (ate something gross), toxins, intestinal parasites. He may need blood work and X-rays of his belly to help find out the exact reason. I recommend bringing a stool sample with you if you can. I would stop trying to give him the probiotic and the antibiotic since he is vomiting. I hope this helps and I wish Sam the best!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Kiki! The concern I have for Kiki is how long and how much vomiting and diarrhea she has had. Dehydration is a real concern for a dog her size. It is best that she gets seen by your Vet today. They can decide if she needs blood work or X-rays. They can at least give her fluids, antacids, something to stop the vomiting and medication for her diarrhea. Causes of vomiting and diarrhea are: dietary indiscretion (eating something gross), intestinal parasites, toxins, metabolic conditions (liver, kidney disease), viral and or bacterial infections. If you want to try her at home, I would withhold food for 12-24 hours and water for 6 hours. In 6 hours offer ice cubes or very small amounts of water. If she stops vomiting then tomorrow start "sip and nibble" of a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice as small frequent meals. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs of body wait until stools are normal. If she continues to vomit while being fasted or when fo

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear that Moka is having problems. Yes, any pet that has persistent signs especially vomiting and diarrhea should be evaluated immediately. Once dehydration and electrolyte imbalance develop, they will just continue to get weaker and weaker unless treated. Reasons for vomiting/diarrhea are many and range from intestinal problems or problems with other organs in the body causing the signs. Intestinal worms, dietary indiscretion (eating things she is not supposed to eat), dietary intolerance/sensitivity, a foreign body (especially in younger dogs), infection, inflammation, toxins, pancreatitis, kidney/liver problems, etc. Your vet can do a physical exam and some tests which could include a fecal exam, blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, etc. to try to determine what is causing the problem. Once a diagnosis is made they will advise a treatment plan to address the issue. Your vet can also address the itching of her muzzle and whining which
