My puppy only had first shots, missed others for 4 months. Is he safe?

My puppy only had his first set of shots and after that hasn’t gotten anymore. It’s been four months, is that bad?

Yes, this isn't good because Kupa isn't protected against deadly diseases like parvo and distemper. Plus, by law, he should be rabies vaccinated by now, and since he's not, that's breaking the law. You need to get him into a vet asap to start his vaccine schedule over again, and start his rabies vaccine series.

Hello Khirod! Yes, you will need to start his DHPPi vaccine series over again to make sure he is protected. He is at risk of rabies if he's not vaccinated for it, so I would get him vaccinated for that as well. Best of luck.

due to some work i missed the second vaccination shot of my puppy ?so is it dangerous to my puppy health?
It can be dangerous if Lucky is exposed to unvaccinated dogs or dogs of unknown vaccine status. You should schedule the 2nd and 3rd rounds of vaccines as soon as you can. Keep him indoors or away from unknown/unvaccinated dogs until about 2 weeks after he is fully vaccinated.

5 month old German shepherd pit mix. never been vaccinated. Can i still fully vaccinate him and what should i get for home administration?
I do not trust the vaccines sold at feed stores or pet stores. We cannot ensure that they have been handled appropriately or kept at the correct temperatures to be able to work. I would recommend that you take Iroh to a vet clinic or even shot clinic to be vaccinated. At his age, two vaccines for distemper/parvo/adenovirus/parainfluenze at 1 month apart is sufficient for 1 year's protection. He is also required to be vaccinated for rabies by a vet. Depending on your lifestyle, the vet or clinic may recommend additional vaccinations to keep him protected.

My dog is about 32 weeks old and still hasn’t gotten a rabies shot is it okay if I take him to get the shot in 2 days?
Yes, definitely take Maks into the vet to get his rabies shot as soon as possible. In some states, it's required by law to have your dog vaccinated against rabies by 16 weeks of age. He will need a booster shot of the rabies vaccines four weeks after the first so he is fully vaccinated against it. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Without vaccinations your dog will not be protected against the most common diseases that can harm him, the 6 in 1 vaccination is usually given first and the rabies is given after the set of 3 vaccinations is done.

Not to worry! You can go to the vet at any time and start a series of vaccinations. At the age of almost six months, any vaccine is safe to administer. If Bowser has never received any vaccine previously, he may require more than one to complete the series and receive adequate protection. Is getting my puppy his vaccination two days before his 12 week dangerous?
It's great that you want to get Miko up to date on his vaccines! There is usually a little leeway between booster vaccines, but if you are talking about his Rabies vaccine then taking him in early may not be possible due to state laws regarding timing of Rabies vaccine administration. He will likely need boosters every 3-4 weeks until he reaches 16-20 weeks. He will then probably need vaccines again a year later. Vaccines that he will likely need include Canine Distemper Virus, Adenovirus-2, Parvovirus , Parainfluenza Virus and Leptospira (often administered in a combination vaccine called DAPPL to reduce the number of injections), Rabies, and Bordetella bronchiseptica (often called the "kennel cough" vaccine). Your vet may also recommend the Lyme and Canine Influenza vaccines, based on your location and Miko's lifestyle. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Linus. Based on the information you have provided, it doesn't sound like he ever finished his puppy series. The distemper-parvo combination vaccine (DHPP) is typically given every 2-4 weeks until the puppy is at least 16 weeks of age. The "L" of that combination is leptospirosis. That takes two vaccines to complete the series so this is likely fine. He should have a bordetella vaccine and depending on his lifestyle, influenza. I hope this information helps!

Took in a puppy that was dumped off near my home. Guessing her to be approximately 4 months old. What is supposed to be done about missed shots?
Go ahead and get her seen by your vet for a wellness exam. If she is healthy, they will likely go ahead and give her her first combination vaccination, which should include protection against parvovirus and distemper at least. Then 3-4 weeks later, she can receive her booster and her rabies vaccination, provided she is indeed over four months of age. That should give her enough protection as she is weaned and the maternal antibodies she would get by nursing won't interfere with her immune response to the vaccinations. Then she'll be on schedule for her vaccinations and can be spayed.

Distemper parvo vaccines are usually given every 3 weeks until they are 15-16 weeks old so he likely got a booster of the same or similar vaccine as he received when he was 7 weeks old. This is normal and not going to harm him either way. Today's vaccine should be effective whether or not he received one at 7 weeks old. He will need another distemper parvo vaccine in 3 weeks and again in 6 weeks from now. Your vet will also recommend some other vaccines dpenedent on your area. I would not take him to public places like a dog park or pet stores until he is completely vaccinated. I hope this helps!
