My cat throws up weekly despite Prednisolone. Does she need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Birman | Female | spayed | 7 years and 7 months old

My cat has been throwing up approximately 4-5 times a week. It's something she's always done, and she's been to the vet before about it, but I still worry about it. She drinks plenty of water and still eats. Never saw anything bad in her vomit. She's currently on Prednisolone for her asthma and her stomach, but it doesn't help as much as it used to for her stomach. What do you think? Should I take my cat to the vet? Do you think she may need tests done? She's had inflammation in the past.

Yes, I do think Sapphire needs to see a vet. Vomiting this much a week isn't normal. I do recommend tests such a blood work and a urinalysis to start. Further tests such as x-rays or ultrasound may be needed as well.
